  • Couple of bodges I’ve been using to ‘restore’ my old Flite saddles (with cuts, tears abrasion etc)

    1st which is pretty effective, is dab superglue into the hole or whatever gap in the cover, then wrap really tight with an inner tube. When you remove the inner tube a few hours later (fingers crossed) a layer of butyl will be left where the tube was pressing down on with the glue, kind of sealing the hole.

    The other method I’ve just started trying out, (sometimes used after the inner tube tekkers) is filling the hole / damaged area of the saddle with sugru and smoothing it flat. No idea of longevity but it feels pretty good.
