  • I think the generic term is JST but there are many. https://www.mattmillman.com/info/crimpconnectors/common-jst-connector-types/ might help narrow it down.

  • Thanks. I can't seem to find this exact one anywhere. It's 1mm pitch but wider between the pins than any I can find.

  • Dropbox.
I've never gotten to grips with it.

I've been given some kind of access to a dropbox to upload some footage. But my access seems to have everything else from the client on there. Locally it says what I've uploaded is there (approx 200gb) but there's also something like 7TB of material on it online. I don't want to have the local stuff but if I delete it, have they set permissions wrong and I'll delete it online as well? I was fiddling last night and tried deleting the entire folder and it said 'preparing to delete 7TB' etc which gave me the fear that I'll have to have that 200GB locally for the rest of time.

I suppose formating my computer to erase all reference of Dropbox is an idea but I'd like to think there's something easier.

  • Go to your Dropbox settings on your computer and choose selective sync, then only sync locally what is relevant to you. I wouldn’t delete anything the way you have mentioned.

Also, your client should probably opt to make a new shared folder that you and they both have access to, and they move relevant files into it for you. Giving you access to the whole thing does seem risky (or lazy). It’s all backed up by DB, so could be retrieved if you did delete everything but would take a considerable amount of time (also it would all get deleted locally from everyone who is sharing that folder -if they are syncing)

  • Also, now you have uploaded the files the client can remove access, hopefully removing it from your Dropbox

  • Thanks. Seems an incredibly risky workflow. I think I'll ask them to revoke access and then presumably if I uninstall Dropbox it should have a similar effect?

I seem to have 'cyoa dropbox' that I had before. Within that is a folder I'm uploading 500gb to. But there's also a 'client dropbox' folder which has the previous 200gb local and 7.7tb in the cloud. Absolutely nuts that if I deleted that folder it would get rid of it for everyone.

  • You should be able to remove yourself from shared folders too - do it through the web browser. Then they disappear from your desktop/DB.

I'm the opposite - dropbox is the only cloud storage I've ever got used to!

  • Absolutely nuts that if I deleted that folder it would get rid of it for everyone.

When I go to delete files and folders locally from the desktop I get a dialogue pop up asking me if I want to unsync myself or delete, do you not get that?

I think it does seem nuts but that’s the nature of shared folders surely?- that if you edit and make changes to them then it works by pushing those changes through to everyone. Otherwise it’ll all be out of sync and there would be loads of versions floating about everywhere.

The client shouldn’t give you access to the whole thing, that’s the crazy bit imo!

  • Do NJS frames typically take ISO or JIS headsets?

  • Not really a proper answer but I've had one of each. The Presto, which I still have, is JIS and also has the smaller hub/axle dimensions.

  • Thanks. I have a headset in my frame, just don’t want to take it out to measure it if I can avoid it.

  • Anyone know if you can ride at lee valley road circuit with a bike with riser/flatbars?

  • Yeah they don't care. You're not technically allowed to be bracelets either but never heard of anyone being stopped

  • What is the name of these tube-fastener-things?

Not the jubilee clips, the things with the bolt threading.

  • There are language variations among the English speaking peoples, but [exhaust|silencer|muffler][guard|heat shield]brackets should yield results

  • I've got an external drive that I was able at one stage to switch between my work PC and my home Mac but doesn't appear to agree with my Mac now. I'd like to retain the files that are on it. Is there any way to get it playing better in MacOS? Suggestions gratefully recieved

  • Can anyone please recommend me a nice thick grease for seatposts, screw threads etc? I had a tub of "Purple Grease" which lasted me for years but is nearly gone. I have a tub of white stuff but it feels too light. thanks!

  • I’ve got a tub of Copaslip, never had any issues with it

  • Yeah, you want antiseize/assembly paste, so copaslip or I quite like the park stuff but that's just because it's easy to order trade.

  • Do these things actually work?

I assume my mobile for one is as manky as fuck.

  • it kills germs it won't remove crust

  • Has anyone torn their knee ACL ligament? What was recovery like?

I did mine yesterday, doctor in Homerton was saying a lot of scary sounding stuff about surgery and long bouts of physio :(

  • Not my ACL but I tore my MCL a few years ago. Meant a few months off work (as a bike courier), some light physio and lots of pain killers. No surgery though.
Doesn't sound much fun, hope you're doing ok!

  • What brand does still offer (blank) hooded sweat jackets with "stealth" handwarmer pockets (as opposed to big pocket sewn on top of the jacket left and right of the zipper)?
Bonus points for organic cotton / GOTS label / fair trade etc.

The below is an "Earth Positive" one, but they don't make them any more it seems.
