  • I'm not sure you need a sports bike to have fun. There are mountains in most regions so lots of the roads are very squiggly. They're like B roads, but usually without pot holes. And in the dryer parts there aren't hedges, so you can see through all the corners. The hard part is finding interesting things to do in the evenings.

  • Spain is amazing for bikes, I've been all over the north and Pyrenees. Exactly as Nick describes, largely empty, well surfaced screamers. Not been there for 10+ years now but will add the cops can be fucking hardcore if they catch you up to no good. Generally, as long as you behave yourself around the villages and towns, you're golden. Best local food in Europe too.

  • And if you happen to be on a Hayabusa or something, you can go down to the central-ish plain and find miles of dead straight, completely empty, perfectly smooth 6 lane Autovia.
