  • I managed to fix the milkyness with a light spray of nitro in the correct weather conditions. The new layer of nitro dissolves into the old/previous layer and releases the moisture. That’s the theory anyway and worked for me.

  • Yeah, I did the same when it happened to me. Apparently there’s something called blush remover that you can spray to fix it, but I’ve never been able to find it in the UK.

  • I’ve got a Blackstar Fly 3 watt mini amp.
Mains lead is missing, but driving on batteries. It actually sounds okay

    Where are you based?

  • -Boss Katana - there's a mini one and big one - seem good

    Anyone any advice ?

I've just got the Boss Katana Air. For a little practice amp, it's good. But, the wireless plug thingy is great for just picking up a guitar and playing. And being able to walk to the fridge whilst still playing in another room is bliss.

  • I got the Fender GTX50. Like the Katana but better according to reviews. Get the 100 version and you get a foot switch too. It’s bigger and heavier than the Blackstsr Fly or Spark. I açai picked up a Fender Champion off FBfor around £30 and it’s a nice too.

  • Cool - home ha7 or work is nw5 - selling ?

  • I have a Yamaha THR 10 (1st generation) and I use it most days. It’s a great sounding amp at low volumes and surprisingly takes pedals well.

I haven’t tried the amps so I can’t compare the features, especially as my version of the amp doesn’t have Bluetooth. But for indoor volume and sound/tone I’d recommend.

  • Catching up with glasto. Rad wah playing at the start of herbie Hancock. elbow’s combined bass and guitar sound is super juicy. Better watch idles or sommat next to reassure myself I haven’t become 100% MOR centrist dadgoals 🤔

  • Okay if you are interested, I can bring in to my office in clerkenwell this week, you just bring a lead, guitar then give it a blast if you want. As for payment I’d be happy for you to donate to the LFGSS forum. How does that sound?

  • I've not watched any for years because I always end up shouting at the sound engineer through the TV - was the Elbow set good? Big fan but not seen them live.
I'm seeing Idles next week at 2kTrees - We're really only there for Thrice, but said I'd give them a chance. I've only heard the couple of tracks that Lemacq has played on the commute home.
Annoyingly Thrice clashes with Pigsx7 that evening, another band I've yet to see.

    So much this

  • Did anyone catch Fontaines DC at glasto? What was the red hollowbody guitar being played by the guy on the left? Black fenderish headstock.

  • This one? Fender Coronado II

  • They were - I think their melodies are really well crafted. Songs have tipped a little to much toward the sappy for me but Garvey did a wicked job of affable front man/crowd choirmaster. Found the finale with the giant child puppet oddly moving 😂

  • Not sure on the exact spec difference but there is the offset Starcaster if you're looking at Fender Semis, too. Originally was a 2nd attempt at a thin semi after the coronado was stopped. Annoyingly they released the Squire version after I got my Epi 339 to fill my Jonny wannabe.

  • Like lfgss at its best - will DM

  • In true LFGSS fashion I've been trying to think of a build to use up my nice Telecaster pickups I bought for previously abandoned project...

I think I've settled on the plan.

I'm going to get one of these Red Hand Armory aluminium necks from a chap I discovered on Instagram, wait time will be a while away and I need to sell a few bits to fund it but it looks bloody fantastic and I've always wanted an aluminium neck guitar...
It's 25.5" scale and completely modular so can fit any neck pocket (comes with Strat and Tele fits standard) and replacement headstocks can be ordered to change the style or number of strings.

...for the body I'm going to make a swamp ash Cloud guitar body scaled up 3% to accommodate the Fender scale length, original Cloud guitars were 24.75". Think I'm going to leave it natural finish or butterscotch and I'm undecided on what to do with the bridge yet (maybe a G.E. Smith style half Telecaster bridge) but that's the idea for now anyway...
I might move the jack around to the edge and try and make the body scroll a bit deeper/ more ornate but plenty of time to decide on particulars...

  • Multipigs were great at Glastonbury but the sound was shit in person (dunno about TV). Nova Twins on after them had the most brutal chainsaw bass/guitar tones I’ve heard for years! Midrange that bites chunks out of you whilst stamping on your chest 👌

  • Nova Twins go very hard indeed!
I also loved the new (to me anyway) St. Vincent lineup... JMJ and Mark Giuliana are an incredible rhythm section!

  • I was planning a tele style coodercaster type build but some unexpected expenses have come up.

So I have a Lollar gold foil neck pickup, surface mount, nickel. Arrived from the US a couple weeks back. Brand new in box and unfitted.

£180 U.K. posted. If anyones interested give me a message. https://photos.app.goo.gl/LNLddJQmMGRE3vgJ8

  • I only ‘discovered’ them because they filmed a music video in my neighbours car! Wasn’t sure on record but it was fucking amazing live!

Yeah really enjoyed the St Vincent show - was hoping to go to the tour date tonight but I’ve got the ‘rona :(
