Matt Stanbury is a character. Graphic designer by trade, cyclist at heart, he has been challenging the Instagram image of a dedicated hobby athlete for quite a while via his profile Glorious, recently renamed rock_n_donuts. His belief that cycling (or any other hobby sport for that matter) should be fun in the first place clearly resonates with his 38K followers. His donut fetish, depicted on a series of jerseys of his own design, has become his tongue-in-cheek trademark in the world of too many calorie obsessives.

Given the fact that a Festka has been Matt’s go to roadbike for a good while, it was only a matter of time until we agreed on a collab. A jersey had been on the cards for a while but when Matt showed interest in getting a gravel bike from us, we suggested to him that he design the scheme for it to be also offered as a limited edition.

he was on here years ago, i remember him riding a very deep Venge and very deep wheels or something like that

I had tri bars on for LEL and a self-guided Paris>Bordeaux bikepacking thing, and the extra positions were greatly appreciated. It was those two rides that persuaded me to get a bike with larger volume tyres to help soften out the road buzz and better handle some untarmacked sections (in France) where the ground was a bit soft and my 28mm tyres sank in, forcing me to walk. So tri bars on a gravel bike seem like a fairly good idea for certain applications, to me.

Stupid but wonderful things like these should gets pass for weird setups, they can fuck right off your day to day ATB bike though.

I like the Festka I’ve seen at Sigma but I really don’t like that at all.

The “collab” - is it just custom/limited edition paint? If so, I think I might have a few unique collabs in my shed….

Any recommendations for a gravel wheelset please? Not sure where to start. Needs to have quick release, tubeless, and shimano cassette freehub. I’m out the loop on what’s good. Hunt?
