I wouldn't be so sure. I thought the same thing but I've now had my Airpods for almost a year and I've not lost them. The one time I thought I had lost them, I was able to find them using Find My iPhone.
But if you are adament that you want wires, you might wanna say whether you need a 3.5mm jack, USB-C or Lightning connector.

Any recommendations for in ear, wired headphones with a mic for less than £75? Ideally much less. I'd love to go wireless but I'm realistic about the fact that I'd just lose them.
