Why am I flogging away at what I'm doing when I could live there, with that view (and that workshop)?
I have this conversation with my partner every time we go away. Always comes back to "but remember we're on holiday and all the life crap we aren't dealing with atm still happens here, plus it's a really long way from our parents" We have kids so being able to call in the
cavalrygrandparents occasionally for emergencies is pretty helpful.
@si_mon628 haha can’t just be posting the good things. If there was a picture to sum up the waking up at 4 most days panicking about what needs done and who I need to chase up that day I’d be uploading that too..
@JurekB yeah I’ve seen them before and considered them but reckon if I show up on site with them now there’d be too many medieval or monty python based jokes..
@MTB-Idle sorry about that, figured it was ok seeing as it wasn’t full of blood or anything, wasn’t sure of a trigger warning or not for the squeamish.
@russmeyer yeah I agree with @Bearlegged, that sounds like way too specific a choice of scenario for it to be something that hasn’t happened!
@psee thank you so much, it’s coming on, and will be worth all the work in the end. Building it was the only way we’d be able to afford anything like this.
@ltc thanks very much bud, little tender today but between work and that I reckon I’ll be back at things in the house by the end of the week.
@SasenFrAsen lovely to be able to post some progress, feels like things have been moving again recently after what felt like a really stagnant period. Completely agree with being next to the sea, I’ve found it incredibly calming as the city was starting to get pretty overwhelming for me. After my head injury a couple years ago i find a lot of different noises at once very difficult too, it is noisy up here with the sea and the birds and things, but it’s a different, less intrusive noise.
Here’s some more workshop pictures, think the loadall is coming today to get the trusses and gables up.
