I’ve just put up curtains using a rail made of plumbing pipe, with wooden rings sliding over it. It’s a bit noisy for my liking.
What’s the best teflon/other tape to apply to the top of the rail to slicken and quieten the whole thing? Transparent best.
Try spraying the pipe and rings with furniture polish - like Pledge or similar. ETA - Stuffing the pipe with something - newsprint for instance - would probably cut down any resonance by a minuscule amount.
