The "Sir Beer Korma" comment had me screaming at the radio today.
My wee brother - the only Tory in our family and a total Boris fan - will have loved that. Like a large number of people, he's incapable of intellectual debate and resorts to bluster, cheap rhetorical tricks, blatant lies and (when all that runs out) shouting, so he admires Boris's stunts. A lot of people just can't do logic and think all this shit is fine and justified because they're right (only they can't articulate it).

He's profiting from the already high levels of cynicism about politics; people who think "They're all liars" aren't so outraged about him being one. Perversely, his contribution to increased cynicism may even help him.
