Any suggestions for a carbon stem (1 1/8"x 31.8mmx100mm) and seatpost (27.2mm) that won't separate me from my teeth?

Would also be interested in a LightBicycle group buy but confused if we have a regular already organising one, is the 20% off confirmed either?

I'm not absolutely sure yet but I might be after a 60mm disc rim from LB if another group buy is started. Only problem is I'm not in London so don't know if the logistics could be sorted?

From a safety point of view or are they just not very good? I've not used one before, I need a new stem and understand that carbon is meant to reduce road vibrations.

Get some £30 use ultimate carbon bars from their outlet and stick to a reputable alloy stem

The carbon stems I've had are also usually so overbuilt to not be flexy that they're super stiff anyway. Ritchey for example

I actually ordered some of those bars yesterday! Maybe a decent alloy stem is the way to go then. Still on the lookout for a decent value carbon post though!

Agreed. I've had endless problems with carbon stems, mostly due to the threaded inserts snapping or coming loose. They're not appreciably lighter than a good alloy stem, if at all, so unless you're in contention for World Tour sprint wins, and so need a Zipp Sprint stem, I wouldn't bother with carbon stems.

That's what your tyres are for. Most carbon stems are heavy and very stiff.

I got a 20inch foldable ebike through work but the stem - similar to this - is a creaking piece of shit.
Does anyone know of any solid 1 1/8 ahead foldable stems that are not shit? It doesn't need to be adjustable, not fussed about the material either

How do you like them so far? Strong enough for gravel bike?
