The houses in catastrophe are also bonkers, I like how casual they are about them, not even mentioning they all own 2mil + places.

Nah, the lad on the corner with the G Wagon is Asian, I assumed it was you and this Catford lark is a long running forum joke?

it's like an episode of Catastrophe
I don't know what this is and I haven't googled it yet.
Is it like Selling Sunset but set in Catford?

Yeah but not on our road. Beemers, Golfs or Audi's for the middle class gentrifiers, crossovers for the squeezed middle/working class with enough money.
Was in the village this morning and saw a guy with a nice shiny Range Rover pulling up outside Froth and Rind.
Parked in the community centre car park actually >>>>

It’s a decent little tv show, with a weird inflated work/life balance.

Went full curtain twitcher and reported one from the local racing club, let’s see what the lovely council folk say 🤳🏻

That’s what the trial linked above is for. Lobby your mp to get your street in the trial.

TBH there are probably numerous boy racer spots that a more deserving then my road.
good to see the initiative though, i would imaging that not too far in the future that once speeding has been electronically/GPS eliminated there will be no aftermarket exhaust sales as the fines will be prohibitive due to the noise fines. -

These kind of changes (especially environmental ones) rarely get implemented, no matter how technically possible they are, unless there is clear demand (‘market pull’ some call it). The fact that London is so behind in a lot of stuff that would positively impact everyone’s wellbeing is partly due to the politicians and partly due to our lack of action

i’m sure it will be a good income stream until the point when ICE transport becomes redundant.

Fine for me if the streets are quieter and the public funds well spent! FWIW we just got a fine for driving 3mph over the 20 limit 😹 not sure how local racers hack it though

The cost of houses in Lewisham have legit drop.

Foxtons data says no but KFH agrees I guess one is looking at year averages and the other a monthly data (see https://www.kfh.co.uk/south-east-london-and-north-kent/lewisham/sold-data)

This isn’t a valuation though, is it - i.e. if it is sold data that’s not like for like, it just depends what sold. So a few massive houses would skew the data a lot?

We got an offer on our flat! Praying this goes through.

• #53246
About to make my first ever offer on a property. Shitting it. Any tips for the next couple of weeks of madness?
-
• #53247
first step is to show us the listing so we can judge

Shitting it.
If you're shitting it now, wait until they accept!

Try not to get caught up in any bidding war nonsense and don’t go over what you’ve decided it’s worth to you.
If you are buying with a mortgage don’t forget the bank will value the property and if you’ve offered over what they say it’s worth you’ll have to make up that difference in cash. Sorry if that’s really obvious, but that’s been happening left, right and centre where we’ve been looking. People bidding over to secure the property and get it off the market, then pulling out a couple of weeks later when they find they can’t afford to proceed.

This. And be prepared for a slow, frustrating, drawn out process where the rug can be pulled at any moment.
yeah it's Richmond road, for anyone not aware of the current state of affairs in the London fields area, it's like an episode of Catastrophe, it will sell ...
