    Arguably she did, which is why all profits from the Crown Estate go to the treasury. Its not far off £3bn over the last 10 years. She also pays income and CGT tax on her private income and any income from the various duchys that she benefited from personally. Interestingly she volunteers to do this despite having legal tax exempt status. In return, we pay for the policing and upkeep of the palaces which is about 4% of the royal families treasury contributions.

    Although to be fair, she was also in the Panama papers wasnt she? I dpubt she's playing with a straight bat.

    No, George III did in 1760, because he was in debt: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crown_Estate. I think you are confusing with tax on private income, e.g. the Duchy of Lancaster, on which the Queen has paid tax since the early 90s.
