• Wheels have been built but I feel a bit sick about how much they cost. It seemed fun speccing them with my cycle scheme voucher but when I got the actual bill I turned a funny colour. Also the LBS is rammed with business right now (obviously) so to keep costs down I'm going to try and do some of the work on this build myself and just take it in to get the brakes sorted.

I think I should be able to do the drivetrain, gearing, tubeless set up and dynamo (inshallah)

Firstly the part I know least about, if I have one of these wanker lights but it has two cables (which were cut pretty short). I guess there's no way to connect it to one of these fancy looking junction boxes and I should just braid in + heatshrink two extension cables down to the hub (which seems better than trying to deal with coax cable at home)

Or should I be trying to do something with "Spade connectors"

    This is good and natural.

    So is this.

Call me out for being a smug nerd who used to solder widgets as a kid, but I think coax and dyno connectors aren't too difficult to DIY. A fresh craft knife, 10 quid iron, and youtube will get you through it. Practice on some scraps if possible.
