Who doesn't like shiny new things though. Blue SIDs for everyone!

Check your bushings are good. Also I swapped the oil (not enough from factory) to motorex supergliss 100k, way nicer. Easy to do.

Checking through the weekend's XCO racing, very few of the pros have blues SIDs
Most appear to be black, with the only notable exception being Jolanda's white fork

Ah people with taste.
Forks should be black unless you have a blue frame. Then and only then will a blue SID not look ridiculous

Do you want the 200hr service kit for your new forks for a fiver?!
-
• #23886
There was a reason I didn't get black. It was either stock issues or the blue was cheaper. I will always buy the shittest looking version of something if it's cheaper.
-

I strongly disagree that the blue is the shittest colour! Love the blue sid harking back to the good ol days.
Who remembers the sid adverts from the late nineties/early 2000’s that would probably get cancelled in 2022?Also… only a maniac would run a blue fork with a blue frame.

• #23888
This is an acceptable reason

Sort of. I remember the Marzocchi Bomber ones being quite blue themselves...

I have a softspot for bikes that are too heavy so I'm really excited about the frame I ordered. Now all that is left to is wait half a year:/

Agree. If black was the cheapest and in stock I would have everything black.
I hate the blue SID as much as I hate the orange Fox stuff. Black you manufacturer idiots, BLACK!

Those Marzocchi calendars in bike shops... and people wondered why there weren't more women in the cycling industry...
-

That's because the pros are riding the 'Blackbox' version of all the SRAM / RS stuff. i.e next years forks. They were all riding the Blue SIDs back in 2020.
-
• #23897
Blue SIDS are the only ones. Black ones may as well be a Reba.
It's a shame the new ones are dark blue though and not the original colour.
Also, purple ano FTW
-
• #23898
When I throw it off a mountain later this year I'll get the spraycan out to 'fix' the blue...
-
• #23899
You are blinded by nostalgia. You wouldn't accept a blue carbon fork on your road bike
-
• #23900
I'm not so sure, people didn't believe me when I said I was going for purple ano on my road bike....
And road bikes are framesets with forks included whereas MTBs are definitely not.

I mean, my brakes are entry level and are like rubbing two sticks of butter on the disc, a step up from magura, and my groupset is bottom shelf, but the allure of a blue sid on a carbon frame was too much to push down the list of priorities.
