Some very flimsy assumptions in there.
‘Deer kill 130 people a year’ seems to include road collisions where I don’t think it’s fair to apportion any blame.

How old is your daughter? Could this be perceived as a threat?
-
• #79
She’s 7, but I’m not going to disregard a possible threat on my life. She’s very interested in venomous and poisonous animals and plants. If you hear about me dying from a rare compound found only in a plant growing in a remote rainforest, You know who the main suspect should be.

A stealthy shark who knows how to frame a child?
-
• #81
Oh a shark gave you the gun, did it? Sure, sure.
Probably the same sharks that are letting everyone think giving them a bop on the nose is adequate deterrent if they attack you

wow, not alot of shark love on this thread..
i was fortunate to witness an autopsy at the Kwa Zulu-Natal Sharks Board back in 1995, young juvenile shark picked up suffocated from one of the many safety nets off shore from the beaches in Durban. That visit changed my opinion of sharks, their conservation is vital for all marine life. those that are found alive were released, sadly many don't survive by the time the coastal patrol boats reach them.
I prefer having sharks in our oceans to careless vending machines or coconuts blaming gravity for human deaths.

Interestingly, I cut my finger open whilst removing a cassette (basically punched a cassette with a fair amount of force) to the point where you could see the ligament moving when i flexed my hand.
The nurse in A&E superglued it together and then placed butterfly stitches above it. Amazing stuff really...!

But we're fine attributing intent to vending machines, right?

So the next time anyone decides to cut open an avocado macho style, make sure you know where the superglue is in your house

Also this

avocados contribute a total of 71,236,878 food miles to the world.

I’m a shark fan. I was pretty in to them as a child (interestingly both my daughters are too). Any shark-shaming from me is purely for recreational purposes and does not necessarily reflect my true feelings about sharks.

Today I learned that the first emperor of China was surrounded by people with some interesting attributes.

Fun video, possibly including some apocryphal stories, more than one unfeasibly large chopper involved and an attempted assassination scene straight out of Carry On Caesar.

But, today I also learnt that rubbing strong tea on the soles of my feet will toughen the skin. -

In normal situations yes, but most domestic cats in the UK are fat fucks so the proportions no longer match.

I know a girl who trimmed her cat's whiskers when she was a kid and the cat then got stuck trying to get through a hole in the fence.

TIL: this-is-kebab-case
Now I know why I prefer it. I used to use PascalCase and camelCase back in the day but in Oz, Souvlakis were more common. In the UK I seem to have moved towards kebab-case.
We should be teaching the toddlers to refocus their aggression on sharks.
