I'll just ride it and hope it goes away

Just get a portable speaker and set the volume to just above the level of the ticking. Problem solved

Do you get the noise only when the chain goes onto the chainring at an (severe) angle?
I've had similar "issues" with narrow wide chainrings. After some riding the drivetrain gets a lot smoother, I guess it's all those sharp edges on the chainring getting slightly worn away.
Can't comment on the wax thing. Still using chain lube... -

didn`t know where to ask this so here it goes: would lack of a serial number and the presence of a race number hanger tab be enough to qualify a steel frame as a team bike?

No

Great, so what would then, if you don`t mind? I have this Zeus frame that has both features and was wondering...

Are those 29 x 2.2s? Great clearances if so...

Ah my heart.
Bought a blue frame just like that in 1980, so nice. -

Is that full Galli?

98% yes : )
rear hub Campag SR, smal ring Stronglight, and no logo on headset -

Exquisite (as usual) - Really love this, especially the Galli and the yellow details.
Great work -

They're from a brand in Japan, they're probably out there with a different logo somewhere but I haven't seen the same shape on eBay etc.
I had to bend them in quite a lot to get them to hold my bottles properly tho

Great shakedown trip on the new bike. The Trans-Cambrian Way is not easy.
Next up for this build
- 110 Thomson stem
- Double sided pedals
- new rear derailleur
- Have the rear wheel fixed- spokes were coming loose every 50k. What a nightmare.

Awesome. Dirty bikes look better.

So the Supah Sex is (mostly) finished, and I got a flat on the first ride :(
Gonna need to sell it however to finance the incoming Hot Tubes.

After much umming and aaahing, pulled the trigger on some exotic carbon forks for the Rock Lobster, as it's mainyl used for commuting at the moment. I'm itching to continue the upgrades but unsure of what the best next step.
Tempted by some Vittora Booze Light 2.3 tyres, slightly lighter than the current DTH and i think also more supple. Either that or some Schwalbe Billy Bonkers.
