  • Has anyone managed to replace the battery in a wahoo elemnt? After 4 years of daily use the battery does mlast as long

Doesn't seem to go into much detail about which battery to order though

  • I need a right turned, 90 degree, micro USB lead to charge my bolt on the go. Something about 60cm, proving harder to find than expected!?!

  • ebay, there's tonnes

  • I've might still have one of those that I used with my Edge 1000 but I don't have that unit any more.

  • Cool, I need one too, for my Dash. But I need it the other way.

  • They do both directions. I've just dug out my cable box and found a bunch of adapters/cables

Roll up, roll up! Who wants some?

  • I'm away for a few days so need to look at mine when I'm back to make sure I've remembered it right.

  • I'm having trouble with my Wahoo Elemnt Bolt. The companion app on my phone won't load the route I want to use on to the computer. Has anyone else had this issue? It works fine if I use my work phone so I imagine it's an issue with the companion app. I've tried updating that and deleting and re-installing it but no luck.

  • I've not had this. Try Wahoo support, though. They genuinely have been really helpful when I've used them

  • Anyone selling an Edge 1000 and want a box for it? I don't have a 1000 now but have the box and it's puurty so I hate throwing stuff like this out.

  • Cheers, will give that a go!

  • Anyone have a trick for getting the screws out of the HRM so I can replace the battery. Bought some #0 and #00 Phillips as per the instructions but the buggers will not budge.

  • Anyone know if it's possible to flip the function of the buttons on a Garmin Instinct watch?

I know I can change the 'hotkeys' but its not that, basically my glove will push the GPS button which, when you are recording an activity, is the pause button.

I guess I could actually just change which wrist I wear it on then that button will be away from my glove...

  • Not quite sure why Garmin thinks I rode over 1,000km yesterday.

CBA to sort it out on my phone. Will look at it on my desktop when I get home.

  • 400km/h nice!

  • Try cropping the start of the ride a bit.
    Els Angels, nice 👍

  • Cheers bud and yes Els Angels. A really nice climb and beautiful scenery. I guess you have ridden it too?

  • I've got a Garmin forerunner 620. Well, I though I had one. I haven't used it in a good few years (4 years maybe?), and wanted to go for a run on a whim today. When I plug it in, the screen barely shows anything (see below), and the moment I pull it off the charger it switches off. When plugged into PC it gets recognized, and Garmin Express managed to update software on it as well. I tried to do factory reset as detailed here with no luck. I've had it on charge in a high quality USB wall plug for about 1.5h now.

Have I bricked the battery by letting it fully discharge over the years?

Edit: nevermind, after all this, when I plugged it back in the wall plug it came to life. Curious how long the battery will last, but surely longer than I can run :)

  • Verdict on Karoo 2? they do look good and more practical to use.

  • Why are you doing the roads, there's a fucktonne of grav grav and MTB in there.

Regarding the 1000k, could be that it was on in UK and turned back on in Spain. View the file in Garmin Express. Also looks like a straight line btw Els and Paellia could be GPS err

  • Fair comment. Full update on Girona thread but when I booked and paid for this trip in 2019 I didn't own a gravel bike.

I thought long and hard about whether I should take my 3rd hand gravel bike or my lush new road bike and ended up on the road.

Yup, Garmin/Strava corrected now. It was far easier to adjust it on my desktop once I was back home and yes I expect it thought i had popped back to London mid-ride. Straight line after Els is where i forgot to turn Garmin back on after coffee stop.

This whole issue started cos my Garmin 820 has a really shitty battery life so I tend to only turn it on just as we start rolling. Probably due to the excitement I forgot to turn it on and looked down after a few km to see a blank screen. So I turned it on whilst on the hoof. That is never a good way to go as it struggles to find the satellite.

Again cos of poor battery life I turned it off over coffee stop at Els and you guessed it, I forgot to turn it on until we were rolling again and at Paella. So a double whammy with the satellite somehow caused the issue.

  • How bad is the battery life? Even my 800 on original battery lasts for hours still

My new 1030 Plus is rad. 24hr and still heaps of battery life left in it.

  • I sold my old 800 which lasted circa 11 hours with full screen display and have always regretted it.

I have all the stuff turned off on the 820 and even have the battery saver on which means the screen is blank for 90% of any ride and only displays any data when I either stop or press the screen so its pretty freakin useless.

It was fully charged at start of Flanders and before I even made it to the first feed station it was showing low battery (20%). that was probably caused by the cold but I find i now have to carry a powerbank with me and charge it up at coffee stops etc.

It's shite and i'm planning on getting a 1030+ as soon as the opportunity arises.
