Sram just wants as smooth a curve as possible. As long as it feels OK to shift then it'll be fine. I like the fully sealed cable kits.

Fully enclosed rear brake routing too, which is a bit of a marmite move
Only way it works with hydraulic brakes 😀
Have a look at the jagwire sealed stuff, less resistance than full outers but still no way of dirt getting in.
