I've found it fine to shift. Ran it like this before, but couldn't recall how much of a "bigger than normal" loop is required for sram mechs.
I find good cable prep (cutting/filing outer ends square, lube on inner) helps a lot for shift performance with full lengths of outer.
Sram just wants as smooth a curve as possible. As long as it feels OK to shift then it'll be fine. I like the fully sealed cable kits.
