Picked up this Kinesis Decade for a winter runaround, but it rides so nicely I decided to tweak it a bit now that the weather is improving to get a racier feel.
Something so enjoyable about a simple road-specific bike without any of the modern complications.

the decade is nice ! and good racy setup.
my experience with this frame is that if you find a full carbon fork, it will feel much better -

Yeah, for an alu fork I find it's surprisingly great to ride, but for the winter I'd love to get a (carbon) disc fork, just to improve the braking a bit.
Haven't been able to find any thing that is straight steerer, has mudguard mounts and is road specific (ie ~370mm a-c) though.

Guess who's building a road bike?

Singlespeed?

Possibly, it’s a 54 with a 54.5 effective top tube. I used to race 54s, my old Spooky purple drink for instance was a 54. However my old man body prefers a 56. My wife and 14 year old both ride 54s, so someone will probably ride it, and if not up for sale it goes.

Yup, was gonna be a Mt Washington bike, but heading in the SS commuter direction now.

Got this GT frame the other day for quite cheap. It’s a ‘GT Legacy’ which I can’t seem to find that much information about. Any idea on age?

I think it’s a fox float 32, but I’m not sure. It’s wonderful, but eventually I’ll change it for an all black one.

Thanks. I’ve got rid of all the SRAM stuff now anyway, and have ordered shimano bits. Advice was more definitive on the disc brake thread. SRAM do my nut anyway
