This was interesting:
https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2021/oct/08/tax-empty-shelves-fuel-shortages-tories
Basic argument being that the Tories ensuring that older voters don't get impacted by tax raises means their support is shored up.

Interesting poll, not sure if it’s a one off or the start of a trend:

Maybe, with his dishonesty and corruption having been so exposed recently, this will finally get the outcome it deserves.

Looks a load of bollocks, targeting the likes of Rees-Mogg with their 15k majorities. It's going to take more than a few adverts to turn NE Somerset red.

Kuenssberg-watch continues as we observe the difference a few days makes... 5 days ago:
There has been a shift in that mood, and the support is shakier. But frankly, it's far, far too early to conclude anything after this torrid fortnight.
It would be foolish for any of his colleagues, or any opposition parties to draw any firm conclusions.
5 days later:

Because they were all so shitfaced they could hardly recall where they were at the time.
Perhaps.
Hang on.
Who is this ‘Downing Street’?
Was it his / her / their party?
And where did D. Street go to school? Are they one of us or not? -

Please let the report say she was in attendance.

Well she states the truth. There is a noticeable strand of opinion in the Tory party and the public, that the parties aren't a big deal.
The point that she hasn't made is that the bigger issue is the lies and cover up. Unfortunately a lot of voters just think that "all politicians lie".

Local elections coming up on the 5th of May.
London's results will inevitably get the most coverage.Everybody on the Electoral List?
Everybody going to vote?Local Elections typically have a poor turnout,
with some councillors elected with just a thousand votes, winning by just a few votes.
A Local Election vote can have more effect than one in a General Election,
by causing change in your local Council. -

In the two boroughs that I pay most attention to - Newham and Lewisham - there's a lot of chat about 'needing a change' and to break the Labour monopoly with a noticeable push by Lib Dems in Lewisham and Greens in Newham.

How is that relevant for the local council?
I just had a lib-dem leaflet through the door in Blackheath. It says that the Lib Dems are planning to cut VAT on energy. Wasn't aware thats the sort of thing a local councillor could do!

Sound potentially as useless like the current Labour council but it's difficult to differentiate
yourself when Labour is just acting like Tory/Lib dem already.
Probably just throw my vote away and go Greens. -

How is that relevant for the local council?
It isn't, this is a generic politics thread.

Sorry, I thought it was a reply to the previous posts.
Don't see Boris going back on Marr for a while after this performance
