I take 43/43.5 in leather shoes with thin socks. I prefer 44 for anything else for the width. My motorbike boots are 43 and 44 depending on brand, and Columbia Chukkas are 43.5.
I bought the 9/43 because they didn’t have 43.5. I would prefer 43.5 but these fit with the thin socks, and to be honest I’ll only wear trainer socks with them the rest of the time anyway.

I’m really enjoying watching Andy Anderson.
Can anyone recommend any other skaters with a similar style? -

Check out Chris Haslam, mad tech skills and looks at stuff different to most, in a similar vein to AA I think.
This compilation is a few years old, so sure there's some newer stuff out there, but this will give you an idea.

Any recco's for a smallish/quietish skate park in north/east area? Decided to start skating again after a 15 year hiatus and want to go somewhere to practice where I won't feel like a total tit. Lordship rec is my closest, I haven't been yet but looks ok, if a bit busy with kids on scooters

There's a diy bank and a few other bits under the Eastway in Hackney Wick. That's the quietest place I know of. Most parts are rough and only used by bmxers.

I’ve been staying down in Dorset (Charmouth) for Easter. Managed to get out for a session at Lyme Regis skatepark a couple of times - fun little park.

Met up with a mate last week & he spotted the longboard in the back of the car - mentioned he regularly works near Livingston & has his old skateboard in the back of his van for lunch hour sessions.
Reminded me of this short documentary on the history of the place & the architect who designed it - quite interesting if anyone's interested in UK skate history. The architect (Iain Urquhart) was apparantly fascinated by the shapes & forms that could be made in concrete in the context of a skatepark as they'd never be used anywhere else, well, not in the 80's anyway.

I really like Ben Koppl. Really creative and enjoyable skating. Looks like he just has an absolute hoot, too. Some similarities to Richie Jackson (above) in terms of approach.

Ugh. What's a good ~60mm 78a wheel?
Yesterday, I binned my 78a NoSkoolz because the original 65m wheel was now something like 53mm and horribly deformed. I put on a set of '78a' (skeptical.. about this durometer) ditch wheels that was in the stash and they are dead. Like riding lumps of wood. (Bins were collected this morning). Eesh.
Any suggestions received with thanks. The NoSkoolz in softer duros seems to be long sold out.

I bought a set of these bearings a while ago (when they were doing a similar deal). Was pleasantly surprised by them, so bought a back up set when I saw they were doing this again.
They’re ‘free’ but postage is £12. Still cheap for decent bearings.

Painted a board for a mates cycle shop. Pretty pleased with how it turned out - shame it’ll be a display board and not be skated though!

Sounds good, cheers.
