I did this on mine. Hydrapak do a longer length of hose that is just clip on fitting to their bladders. Other brands you could just buy the right diam. hose and push fit it to their connectors. Mine gets wrapped around the Garmin mount and back under the aerobars but it obviously depends how long it is and what you have available to secure it with. The hydrapak or the Spesh ones have a magnet setup - so magnet somewhere on bars and magnet on the hose to clip it down.

Any more recommendations for hydration packs to use for long days on road? I've noted @dancing james rec of the Evoc, which sounds quite good.
It's for my stoker for PBP - he is struggling with getting bottles in and out of the cages so we are going to try a pack.
1.5 litres = 2 bottles, so about the right size.

they are all the same; osprey is alright

If you can't got a good deal on the usual suspects (Camelbak, Osprey, etc.), the Decathlon Rockrider offerings are perfectly good in my opinion.

I bought the evoc hip pack pro because I wanted to be on trend at the trail centre. I just found it wouldn’t stay in place on technical terrain and would start slipping down. I am sure it’d be great on road.
So I ended up moving to a camelback skyline as it has a low horizontal bladder but also shoulder straps.
You can have the evoc pack if you wish. I am back from holiday on Monday.

Also the evoc has spaces for bottles as well.

The thing I prefer of my osprey over the camelbak is that it has a flat back which sits nice on the back. Ignoring the stupid closer of the camelbak

Thanks for the update. It sounds like it should work. He's wary of having something on his back and this could be a good compromise.
Also very kind of you to offer yours, however I'm trying to get something for a final trial ride this Sunday so will rush order one so we have it. -

Interesting...

No worries
Hope it all works out. -

Got an Osprey Seral 7 for basically free after whining at Chain Reaction for sending me damaged goods. I wouldn't want to carry much more than that on enduro rides, but for road I think it'd be fine. Can easily fit tools, tube, pump, food, phone, wallet, spare gloves or gilet, plus 1.5l of water and it feels fine

Osprey Seral 7
Thanks - that looks similar to the Evoc. We only need it for water - nothing else. Only need to carry 1.5 litres, as it is instead of 2 bottles.

My only issue with it was the stock magnet that holds the nozzle to the belt is a bit weak, but easily solved by popping a small neodymium on it

I've had a rec from someone else for this one:
https://www.camelbak.co.uk/packs-c36/bike-c50/hydrobak-light-hydration-pack-2-5l-with-1-5l-reservoir-p35
someone else uses it on road and says it was well ventilated and he preferred not having anything on his waist. -

I used something similar for a few rides this year (an old classic light which I owned for years but never got round to using as I hate stuff on my back) but it still feels like a backpack. Tried my girlfriends Camelbak Chase Vest. The vest style packs feel way better so got one of those in the end. Ended up getting the womens version as a place was selling samples on ebay cheap.

^^ that Camelbak is £43 quid in Halfords (+some workplace discount schemes might get an additional 10% off - mine does)

So we got the Evoc.
What is the best place to clip the tube? There doesn't seem an obvious place like the shoulder strap on a camelbak.
@dancing James, @TooTallTim, any thoughts welcome! -

Wrap around the waist. I had to buy a magnetic clip for mine

Thanks, that's very helpful!
Another dredge and hoping for some pointers...trying out my camelbak bladder in a full frame bag (cheers @atk ). I think I need to replace the tube with a longer tube. It's impossible to drink from just now unless I stop as there is zero flex on the hose length. If / when I manage to replace the hose with a longer version ( no idea on sizing) then is there a forum approved method for mounting to the bar without it flapping about and flying into your wheels?
