What is the connection between snoopy and watches? Why are so many brands doing it?
Why not Donald Duck or spongebob or whatever? -

The Silver Snoopy award is defined as a special honour awarded to NASA employees and contractors for outstanding achievements related to human flight safety or mission success. It consists of a sterling silver “Silver Snoopy” lapel pin flown during a NASA mission, a commendation letter and a signed, framed Silver Snoopy certificate. The award depicts Snoopy, a character from the Peanuts comic strip created by Charles M. Schulz.
The idea for the Silver Snoopy award came from Al Chop, who was director of the public affairs office for the Manned Spacecraft Center (now called the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center). He wanted to create an award featuring Snoopy as an astronaut to be given by astronauts in recognition of outstanding contributions by employees.
edit: this is the reason for Omega Snoopy moonwatches, not sure about Bamford and their involvement in space travel.

Hang on. They've dressed snoopy as ben clymer?!
That's some serious ego.

Historically it's one of the more popular character watches (Mickey Mouse is probably the most popular). But specifically for "luxury" watches, Snoopy has been used as a mascot by NASA and subsequently incorporated into certain special edition Speedmasters by Omega. The current "Silver Snoopy" model is one of the hardest Omegas to get right now. So I think there's an element of that association.

"Joe Preppy" is a Snoopy character that's been around for decades, if one of the more obscure ones, but they've clearly picked it because it looks like half the Hoodwinkee team and a significant percentage of its readers.
The Bamford × Peanuts “Joe Preppy” GMT Limited Edition For HODINKEE, featuring everyone's favorite cartoon beagle in his charming and dapper Joe Preppy ensemble. Snoopy has always been a master of disguise, and his Joe Preppy alter-ego has long been a favorite around the HODINKEE office for its irreverence and the uncanny resemblance it shares to the quintessential HODINKEE reader and watch collector. Just step outside our Lower Manhattan office and you'll notice dozens of trendy, coffee-sipping sartorialists hanging around dressed in the Joe Preppy uniform.

Anyone got use for a 10 watch box? It's a nice, reassuringly heavy thing, heavy solid wood/ real leather. From Fossil originally - think I paid around £150 for it after being grateful to find something that a) didn't have a window in the top and b) had big enough slots that watches didn't look crammed in when full.
My commitment to a 3 watch collection means it is now defunct and I don't want to move house with it again so £45?

$10 says Ben C has his own custom redial where snoopy has a beard.
It's 0-11 though. Or -1 to 10.
