  • Honestly. This thread.

It’s like no-one’s heard of the leg bag. If you like a ‘system’, apply this to any bib.

  • Uneven weight distribution.

But it’s more stylish than the pns clobber.

  • get some cargo pockets for your bike, aka panniers.

  • Two would look silly.

  • All perfect for 60km round Kent

  • Two hundred and seventy fucking euros for some lycra. Seen gravelistas coming

  • Are the Rapha Cargos shit then? I have an unworn pair in the cupboard for this year

  • No idea if useful, and apologies for posting on this thread, but Albion launch some next Thursday. Mens & womens, same pocket format as the deep winter tights (2x legs, 1x cross-back stuff pocket), same pad as ABR1's ....use forum disc code... feel free to ask more q's on Albion thread - might be able to post some pics if interested.
    Edit; Tues 26th launch

  • I really like mine! Don't have any riding buddies to inform me whether or not they've gone see-through though. Find them much more comfortable than my Sportful and Decathlon bibs anyway.

  • Literally the best addition to my kit. I love the speed of phone/ food retreival.
    Albion's sound good too.
Now if only someone would REMAKE THE GODDAMN THERMOSUIT!!!!

  • My brevet ones move around a lot, I found the material just doesn't stay put like the pro team bibs do and they seem to fit different every time I put them on. I stopped wearing them once I switched to DHB (surprised by how much I like them). I really miss the practicality of the pockets though, T shirt rides were great. A friend has the same pair and loves them so it's tricky. I'd say they're worth a shot

  • One coming from Le Col this winter!

  • Yeah but who buys Le Col?

  • Didn't realise Assos have cargo shorts.
Last time I checked they didn't. Just bought them, thanks!

About Rapha's cargo bibs: I have both core ones and brevet (?) ones - the more expensive ones.

Core ones started going see through after a season - thankful for my friends for pointing it out. The more expensive ones started basically disengaging after I rubbed off the stitches in crotch area (took me a couple of months).

The colour also faded out quite a bit. So basically now they look like something i've had for a decade.

  • Thanks for the feedback @nobrows @exteroceptive @Arnomatic on the cargo bibs, may give them a ride out this weekend

  • Did you try contacting them about the transparent bibs?

  • Not really - I thought it's supposed to wear like that for core line.

I did contact them about the more expensive ones going apart after a couple of months and got offered either a replacement or 40% voucher of what i've paid for them.

I chose the latter but in general I think i'm done with Rapha bibs. Maybe it was because of the fabric - it seems to be a very interesting fabric on cargo bibs - not something like usual lycra, something more durable, maybe that's why the seams wouldn't last long.

It says on their website that core cargo shorts contain 82% Polyester & 18% Elastane while premium cargo shorts contain 71% nylon & 29% elastane.

  • I found the chamois in the core ones to be really inferior to the non-core ones. Pretty much everything about the core ones paled in comparison really, for its price point.

Non-core cargo bibs are my favourite set of bibs I've ever had. Not great for summer though, not super breathable.

  • I have a few pairs of new PT bibs that I have not used yet due to being so unhappy with the core cargo...but this gives me some hope in that they will be more comfy.

  • I find the PT bibs a lot more comfortable than the core bibs. The chamois is sized to the bibs in the PT bibs, whereas the Core has the same size chamois across all sizes.

  • I quite enjoy the new Brevet one, didn’t realised it hsve a cargo pouch until it been point out, it invisible when not using it (my main complaint about the original is that I can feel the pouch).

  • How did you like the gore tex jacket?

  • Was unfortunate enough to follow a guy in a set of core bibs on a narrow cycle path for a bit earlier, first time I’ve been that up close and personal with them. They should be removed from sale immediately.
