  • Thanks! I’ve got two Alfine 8s (one Brompton, one city bike) and rate them but always just fancied a Rohloff + belt drive.

@BrickMan I’ve got to crack one open and give it a good dousing soon in ATF (based on a ctc post) so good to know that’s acceptable

  • My previous Alfine worked pretty well. But the weight of a cargo bike when loaded takes quite a bit of force to get going, and I think this is where the Alfine suffers. At least that's been my experience with it.

  • Shimano warranty dept probably throw a fit if they saw anything other than the 'right stuff'. But recently with the complete lack of 'genuine shimano red mineral oil', think I'm at 18 months with none at all, back orders keep getting pushed to the right (we're into 2023 now for brake oil, and will have been waiting since nov 2020), so sent quite a few bust shimano brakes back with green, yellow or blue stuff in them, they haven't dared complain yet.

  • Yeah I hear you, mid drive + cargo bike weight + less than mechanically sympathetic riders = minced internals.

  • took my son to nursery today, he wasnt happy

  • No pope-mobile, I'd feel a bit short changed too.

  • Spotted! I was on my way up College Road as you were on the way down it.

I was the guy on the purple peugeot lagging behind my hill climbing partner!

  • We've not been down college road yet. I went up it by myself last Wednesday

  • Awesome cap, I like that a lot ha

  • such a hansome biy, you must be proud.

  • Still couldn't get any of the Family bikes to the UK...

  • Long time lurker on this thread but thought would finally add to the mix. Got to test ride the Moustache lundi cargo bike this morning and thought it was very cool. They did say the dropper post has to be height adjusted by the workshop and not by the user which seems like a fairly bad design flaw. This is probably why the videos online seem to show people with saddles at completely the wrong height.

  • Interesting to hear. Thanks. We're a Moustache dealer and they're keen on us carrying it, but we're unsure.

  • Moustache lundi cargo

Very interesting headtube / bars! Kinda like it, wish the wheels were bigger. Dogshit the dropper being workshop only, probably just needs the cable / hose correctly adjusting if you lower / raise it

  • Wing mirror ID please

  • Sorry to intrude, but I really rate Hafny mirrors, I think originally made for scooters.

  • Yes, they are my preferred brand

  • Hafny !

  • Heavy
    Thought I recognised the tint

  • Already fed up of getting the GSD up the big step at my back gate. It's a tight enough fit so trying to lift it through a gap that's only a cm or so wider than the bike is likely to end in tears. Cobbled a ramp together with some scrap wood.
