Ta. Separate battery doesn't bother me. Also means if (by some minor miracle) I ever find the others again*, I haven't spent a packet!
*my money is on them being taken to school and either lost or one of the cool kids "borrowed" it...

I bought an exposure to go pro mount from condor without reading the description and it doesn't fit the trace. Too late to return it now. Anyone have any of the following and want it?
Equinox, Diablo, Axis, Joystick, Sirius, Switch, Link, Link Plus, Equestrain Link, Equestrain Link Plus -

Looking for a rear light that has that smooth pulse thing rather thna the flashy flashy style. Was cycling behind both styles the Smooth one was just as viable but far more easy on the eye.
What is the hive mind thoughts on the smooth pulse? Is it not as safe???

I bought the big rear Exposure light. I like it. It has solid and a kind of solid+pulse mode.

Bontrager flare does a kinda always on flicker pulse thing, kryptonite avenue has a nice bright COB pulse, either always on or pulse with a bit of off. I use both but would be happy with either, flare is nice and compact.

After some help with these knog lights, they worked fine with the supplied batteries. But all the batteries I’ve fitted afterwards get drained while the light is turned off and are dead within a few days.

Bit of a dredge but I've had a Vision 2 for years and love it. This looks like a vision 2 integrated into one of their battery packs and given that the only issues I've had have been with the cables packing in (hope repaired for free) if the size and weight is fine for you then I expect good things.

If any bodies looking for waterproof lights I reccomend both of these, they both went through the washing machine 2 weeks ago and all still working perfect!
Note to self check jersey pockets before washing!

Annoyingly enough, I lost (read: got stolen) my beloved Exposure Race.
Don't really feel like splashing that kind of cash anymore.
What's the consensus on other battery-powered front lights with similar performance (in terms of lumens and battery life)? -

If you're not after a road specific beam (the exposure race doesn't seem to be), I would look into getting a 21700 battery based flashlight. You'll get the latest tech, customisable firmware like Anduril, it'll be way cheaper and you can just take a spare 21700 cell to double the battery life. Paired with a gopro based 25mm mount like this: https://76projects.com/collections/shop-computer-mounts-light-brackets/products/gopro-style-light-brackets?variant=41912009130171.
Something like the Sofirn IF25A might work, which seems crazy cheap at the mo: https://sofirnlight.myshoplaza.com/products/sofirn-if25a-anduril-2-rechargeable-flashlight-max-3800-lumen-with-sst20-led-and-typec-charger?spm=..flashsaleCollection.flashsale_1.2&spm_prev=..collection.header_1.1
But you'll need to do some research to find the right one for your lumens/battery life/beam requirements. On this thread, someone put a exposure mount on a big Sofirn: https://www.mtbr.com/threads/sofirn-sp36-for-bar-light.1178014/
I'm trying out one of these at the moment: https://lumintop.com/product/b01/. It has a STVZO like beam for the road and can even be powered from a powerbank.

You're right, it wasn't a road-specific beam, but 98% of the times that's where I used it, and as long as I kept in angled down and right (I'm from mainland Europe), no car driver ever complained.

That lumintop sounds very tasteful. How is the beam?

I have a Moon Meteor Storm Pro which I really like. Bit hefty if you count your grams, but has two beams which can be used separately or together, very bright at 2000lm, good battery life, has a (wired) remote which you can plug in for easier switching and can be had for about 50/60 quid.
The one annoying thing I found is that the GoPro style mount didn't come with it and I had to order separately and when I did the light wobbled a bit in it. I remedied to this by adding some leccy tape which made up for the slight play.

Seems decent but I haven't ridden it on unlit roads so not sure yet.
-
• #5371
That road looks pretty much unlit to me 🙂

• #5372
haha, it was in the park and there was actually alot of ambient light. Phone camera did it tricks.

• #5373
I've got one of these too, decent lights and can run off a battery pack if you're going for ages, but I think I charged mine once over winter as I didn't do anything that required full beam and low is plenty for being seen kinda power, I have used it for off road night gravel stuff and it does a few hours of that fine too.

Anyone with an Exposure Blaze Mk2 - does the light stay green when it's fully charged?

yes
Annoyingly after those exposure deals above have gone, the kids have lost both my joystick and trace in the last week (keeping schtum about what happened also...).
Any suggestions for good deals spotted for similarly/more powerful* and robust front lights for road/light trails/commuting at night?
*to the joystick - ca. 800 lumens on high, I think (mk10)
