  • many thanks!!!

  • Related to ^^ is the Verifly app

    (a) nessecary
    (b) useful
    (c) a data harvesting scam

    Flying to the US shortly

  • That sounds annoying, but it's good to hear that I'm not alone. I'm a pretty head-up cyclist, as I'm mainly just out to see the countryside, but I've also got really long legs so my saddle's quite high relative to my bars. I wonder if this means that I'm putting pressure on my neck and shoulders, so perhaps I just need a higher-rise stem.

I also wonder if I need to sort out my pelvis position, but I'm not suffering any back pain, so I'm not sure that's the problem.

  • sending hoops to someone on here who lives in Rep. of Ireland....
obviously there's now customs shenanigans and declarations..
modest value under £100 - should I declare as gift under the tariff code thing of 'bicycles, non motorised, other'? Cheers

  • Does anyone have a passive speaker for their phone? This kind of thing

Do they make a noticeable increase in volume?

  • J&L 130BCD Narrow/Wide chainrings. thoughts?
Having trouble finding anything decent in stock.

  • they're great, used mine for years problem free

  • Yup, they're fine. Alloy I think, not steel, but I've had a couple each last a couple of years daily commuting

  • I designed and made a small 3D printed folded horn for my iPhone 5. It worked really well. You need a phone where the speaker actually plays out the holes in the bottom for it to be effective.

Edit: here’s one of them. I made a bigger one with more flare too.

Edit 2: good increase in volume, but don’t expect lots of bass. Small horns like this tend to just maximise the sound you’ve already got and aim it all forwards.

  • Looks good! Thanks for the info

  • I want a van. Ideally with a cab row of seats, then a second row of seats (up to 6 people total). And in the 'boot' section I'd like 1.5m minimum length before the back of the seats so I could wheel in a large 'thing' But I'd like the ability to lose the back seats entirely and open it up to a larger space (2m +). Does such a thing exist off the shelf?

  • Does such a thing exist off the shelf?

Double Cab Transit Custom should be close, not sure if you need L1 or L2 to get 1.5m behind the second row of seats.

Edit: Probs L2, judging by the pic

  • Thanks, that second one looks pretty spot on. For some reason I've only seen/noticed the top version on the roads.

  • For some reason I've only seen/noticed the top version on the roads.

I'm guessing they sell a lot more L1, the L2 is neither fish nor fowl - big for people who want car-like, small for people used to an actual Tranny or Sprinter.

  • And potentially perfect for cyoas to transport crew and kit.

  • How posh does it need to be? I bought a 9 seater splitter van from eBay a few years ago. If you don't mind second hand there's a few dealers selling ex-MOD transits and things like that. No frills but reliable!

  • How does post reach the UK from Holland? I ordered some bits for my cycling shoes from the EU Bont distributor on 14 March and can’t really ride until they come.

They’ve been in some sort of weird stasis between the Schengen area and this stupid Brexit island since Tuesday.

  • My most recent international post, from Switzerland, left overseas and then went into a void for 4 days before appearing in the Royal Mail international processing centre early one morning. It allegedly spent 4 hours being cleared and then arrived with me the next day.

  • They’ve been in some sort of weird stasis between the Schengen area and this stupid Brexit island since Tuesday.

That works both ways, I sent something to NL and it sat for a fortnight in NL customs. It's because of Brexit, but not because of Brexiteers. The stupidity of the treaties is all on the EU side, partly because it is an inherently protectionist organisation but mostly because they wanted maximum inconvenience as a warning to any other populace contemplating secession. Of course, GB could unilaterally liberalise imports even while the EU is punishing its own citizens, but they are too stupid to see the benefit.

  • I'm after suggestions for holiday destinations. 2 adults, probably 4 nights so ideally no mega long flights, direct flights from London (ideally Gatwick) and not too expensive. Interests include wandering around, drinking margaritas and eating vegan food. Off the top of my head the places that come to mind are Barcelona, Lisbon or somewhere more chilled like Croatia/Montenegro.

  • Turin. A great city, cheap flights, good museums, best food in the world imo and cheap. And if you get bored you can easily do a day trip to Milan.

    Stay here - http://www.viastampatori.com/

    Eat here -
Tre Galline, Via Gian Francesco Bellezia, 37, 10122 Torino TO, Italy
Antiche Serre, Via Cenischia, 9, 10139 Torino TO, Italy
Al Gatto Nero, Corso Filippo Turati, 14, 10128 Torino TO, Italy

kinda ignoring the vegan bit but still...Turin's amazing

  • Anyone on here live in West Norwood? Long time since I used to frequent those parts - what’s parking like on a Sunday? Specifically within walking distance of the Picture House.

  • Carry on south past the picture house and turn right into the little industrial estate (beadman St) and there is free on street parking there - a couple of mins walk back to the cinema.
