What are you running now?

3 speed and I've geared it down slightly too.
Am spinning out on flats but living at the top of crystal palace means every ride has a hill back home. Plus I sometimes have my kid on board too
Have half considered going to six, but I've run a nexus 8 on a pub bike in the past and it was great.

Option 1, fit a double Chainset.
Option 2, fit an N driver and convert your bsr to 2 sprockets; you can also run 3 with a kit

Any forum suggestions for mounting Garmin to bars?
-
• #11082
Which garmin and which bars? I’ve got an edge 20 and flat bars and just use the standard 1/4 turn mount which works exactly as it should. Had also worked on the m type handlebars just fine.
1/4 turn and S bars would Probably be ok for an edge 500 sized device as well. Have had my 800 on there when needing maps, but a bit awkward to be the angle right, and does interfere with the fold.

I was on here ages ago but have long since lost p/w etc, so re-registered.
I have a 10 year old 3 speed. I recall you could spec it with an easier "first" gear, but I did not. I am now a) older - it must be 10 years or something - and b) living somewhere lumpier. Is there an easy not expensive way of of making it easier to get up the lumps. The top 2 gears are fine, no need to go any faster. I will pay someone to do it as I do not have any tools and am useless. Thanks in advance.

I'm trying to use a 1030 on H/M bars, currently have the quarter turn mounted to the inside of the grips which isn't bad, doesn't interfere with fold but is awkward and not particularly stable

Thanks - will investigate.

Could you get me of those TT bar extensions for mounting lights/computers, and stick that out towards the middle of the bars from the vertical section of handlebar?
Annoyingly I can’t find a picture of what I mean, but I’ve used a clamp on mount before to stick out into the middle of the bars for mounting a light that worked ok.
Edit: like this https://brilliantbikes.co.uk/brompton-battery-lights/617-brompton-light-extension-bracket.html

Send me some photos of the bike?

Have seen people pop them on the toptube before!

• #11090
Good shout but I'd like to try and keep it looking as simple/clean as possible

Ooo, good shout, although a test of my flexibility to change screen

This was exactly what I had found but I'm worried it'll interfere with the clamp tension.
Has anyone tried one? Not sure how much I trust Amazon and Alix "customer" reviews

We could fit some drop bars and di2 to control it?
-
• #11094
The were some people with ‘cross bars’ mounted on the m bars on the Brommy Hacks fb page. Think they had used plastic tube and cities to attach it.
I’ll see if I can find a photo.

This kind of thing.
Think there’s also legit ones you can buy.

Weren’t there stiffeners sold for the old flexy H bars? Kinda like motocross handlebar braces. Always truck me as odd till I rode an older Brompton, and quickly switched to flat bars as the flex was not conducive to confident stopping!

Smaller 44T chainring would be one way of doing it.

Before and after, 1 year older than me going on the rear hub date.
Proper job, rides so smooth now!

Can have your triangle widened, kinetics Would be my go to, far better to buy a kinetics triangle and use a jtek m10 tensioner insert
