I thought they marketed it as easy to move from fork to fork.
Nae worries as I am probably lacking in the riding nuance/finesse to make it worthwhile a way.

If you buy the shaft clamps- which I didn’t, I posted it to TF Tuned instead.

RXF 38 is being shipped tomorrow, which is both surprising and awesome.

How’s the move to Scotland coming along? A bike like this deserves a good life up here.

I was thinking about spending some time up in the Tweed Valley only this morning - somewhere near Innerleithen preferably, probably working during the day and taking advantage of the long summer evenings to ride.

Also, Chain Reaction delivery of grips, stem and bottle cage arrived today.

I see no downsides to this at all

Well, I need to work out how to look after the cats for the period that I’m away.
-

Take them with you? Serious suggestion.
My cat Randall recently moved on to the big party in the sky. He was as old as the hills though and he’s missed dearly.
However, I can’t deny that going on holiday is now going to be a lot simpler. -

Wolf Tooth dropper lever and a Fox Factory Transfer dropper arrived today - did either of these items come with a cable? Did they fuck.
-

They knew you wouldn’t use a stock cable anyway.

The Pace geo chart is with a 140mm fork, unsagged, offset bushing in the high position, 29” wheels.
I’m running it with the offset bushing in the lower position, with a 150mm fork, and a 27.5” rear wheel.
I think that this means I have probably shortened up the reach quite a bit- and I’m wondering whether it was that, plus the slightly lower BB that contributed to the “ah, this turns in much better!” feeling that I had the first time I rode it as a mullet.
Does this make sense?
I’m worried that comparing a geo chart of the Pace that is probably not very accurate to the accurate geo chart of the Madonna is leading me to make the wrong decision on frame size.

I think this chap has an interesting take on bike fit.
https://www.leelikesbikes.com/dynamic-mtb-fit
The bike rotates around the BB so what is important for dynamic bike fit is the distance from bars to BB. It is a very different take than stack/reach but focuses on getting the bike setup to make it optimal for hinge positions and rowing/pushing the bars.

Definitely not 480mm, so I think the Xl is the right one.

Have you measured your RAD and then compared it to the Pace RAD ?

No

Interestingly RAAW recommend either a 40 or 50mm stem, whereas I've got 35mm stems on both bikes.
480mm reach + 50mm stem obviously gets us to 530mm, which is very close to (but still less than) the 538 of my current reach+stem.
I'm starting to paralyse myself with this. The MD of RAAW is 182cm tall and rides an L - I'm 5cm taller than he is.

The RAAW has +2.2deg steeper virtual STA vs. Pace in XL so it should definitely feel shorter when seated (probably hence the 40/50mm recommended stem length).

I am going to have to ask you to stop using hooked bungee cords. They are lethal for your eye balls. Please bin and replace with something sane.

True. I have bought a 35mm stem, because that's what I am used to. Will have to see what it's like, a stem is a (somewhat) cheap part to swap, doing that with a frame is a bit more expensive.
Anyway- they just shipped it so fingers crossed it fits!

Do you have a recommendation for safer bungee cords?
