  • I did use Imgur but it seemed to have turned into a poor version of Instagram, with photo feeds that I really can't be fucked with.
    Small as in resolution?

  • it seemed to have turned into a poor version of Instagram

You're right, I forgot about that. Though you can get around that by opting out of the beta, which I did. But I guess it's a matter of time before that's no longer an option.

    Small as in resolution?

Yep, probably a measure taken by the site to reduce file sizes.

  • When it comes to techy stuff I'm a bit meh, I'll use what's easiest for my stone age brain.
Probably also that my camera is rather old!

  • It's probably been suggested before, but why not use the forum's own upload function?

  • It hasn't, and I didn't know there was such a thing.

  • Is this bigger? Edit: nope!

    Bike is looking sweet.

  • You can just click for big on the imgbb image. This thing both bangs and slaps, I love it.

  • Ta. Head tube is 15mm longer, fork is 10mm shorter, seat tube is same length, chainstays are 10mm shorter.

  • Banging and slapping were my two main criteria in the brief I gave to Winston. He met those criteria.

  • Bit late to the party but it looks great @jontea !
Happy riding! Now the sun's out we should all fail to organise a Varonha ride again ; )

  • Cheers Gareth.
You're probably right, hopefully we'll get a decent summer, and I can organise myself a car and some free time to come down for a ride, or not (again)!

  • Ride report (not as brief as previous one).
Got a good night's kip, didn't set an alarm, up before 7, leisurely breakfast, couple of HTBs, got meself ready, got pink bike ready, loaded provisions (2 rollies, 1 banana, 1 wiggle size bag of haribo), out for 9ish.
Wasn't sure I was feeling up for a hilly ride, so set off on a lightly undulating cruise. A decision needed to be made as I got closer to Goosetry, head towards Jodrell Bank, or head out towards Macc Forest, MF won.
It was lovely out, I had nothing to get back in a rush for, so Wincle was my chosen destination. Got hollered at in Sutton, by a forum member (sorry pal, forgot your name, if you read this, post a comment) who had been reading this here CP thread and recognised Pink bike, was good to meet you and have a brief chat.
Took Ridge Hill up past Hanging Gate, nice view towards Shutlingsloe, down into Wincle.
Wincle Brewery is a fine place for a rest and a HTB and a bit of cake (this ride was over 30 miles, so cake is allowed). 1 rollie, 1 brew (bag left in), and a piece of their chocolate and stout brownie, fuckin ell it's good!
Refueled and ready to go again. Took the road leading to Rushton Spencer, quick slog up the main A road, off towards the Knot Inn, up towards The Cloud, quick stop for a pic of the bike with Jodrell Bank in the background, down into Congleton, and home.
    Lovely.

    Bike report.
Fantastic, bloody love it, could maybe go down a tyre size (from 1.9 to 1.75), but will have a few more rides before that decision is made, need to adjust front derailleur, friction shifting is wonderful, only mashed a couple of gear changes, but I'll get use to it.
Couple of bike pics, and a HTB/cake/rollie pic.
Hope you're all having a splendid weekend, I am.

  • Awesome!
Great weather for an inaugural long ride (at least for me 41 miles would be a long ride at the moment). Bike looks great, got that proper solid feel too, bombproof...
The whole week was lovely in London too, I got a chance to do some nice commutes on the Varonha (only 26 miles a day, still nice) which confirmed it was still my favorite bike ever.

  • Cheers.
Yep weather has been fantastic, been nice to commute in sunshine. 26 miles is a decent commute.
Agreed, Winston does build a bloody nice bike.

  • It was me that hollered mate. Couldn't let a fellow forum member pass by without a brief chat. The bike look lovely, really nice.
Weather was perfect for the Peaks today....shame my legs wasn't.
    Catch you again sometime....

  • Yeah, it was a fantastic day to be out n about.
Good to meet you, probably see again, spend quite a bit of my riding time around there.

  • Wincle Brewery are doing brews now? This is big!

You picked a good day to get out. I rode to Macc and back yesterday, was thinking about heading up that way but I was running late after stopping twice to help pumpless cyclists and had a pot plant strapped to the front of the bike. Next time!

  • Yep, they have a coffee machine in the shop, if you ask for a tea the very nice staff will pop the kettle on next door, leave the bag in though, they don't let it brew long enough.
Was a cracking day for it. Bloody cyclists without pumps!
When I'm getting my bike ready for a day out I always forget to carry a pot plant! What was it, a plant in a pot, or a 'pot' plant?

  • The former. A belated birthday gift, along with a box of chocolates that was just the right size to take up all the space in the framebag.

  • We'll have to sort out a Macc/Peak ride sometime during late spring/summer. Flash and/or Wincle for brew n cake.
    Did the chocolates melt?

  • Sounds good, I should be less busy after the Easter weekend. I've had confirmation that the chocolates were a bit muddled up, but perfectly edible. Guess I must have been mostly in the shade or something.

  • This comes under the 'blah blah blah ' bit of my CP thread.

Just built this cheeky little number up.
Needs matching tyres, either another Pasela on the rear, or a Spesh Turbo Pro on the front (will get sorted soonish).

  • Have we gone back in time?!
