Hayfever

  • Saline nasal rinse, stuff nose with Vaseline, local honey.

I’ve also found that some foods can make it worse for me, milk, yoghurt and ice cream particularly.

  • Grass is 6’ high. Eyes are now full of stabby pain.

To me it looks like a fair trade off. I hate my hay fever and really suffer with it. But I refuse to let it stop me doing nice summer things.

It's kind of like terrorism in that regard.

  • I though the rain would have bought some respite today. Just went for a run. Windy. Felt like somebody was flicking sand in my eyes and nose the whole time. Horrible.

  • I think today is going to be a bad day.

  • I woke up with my eyes practically glued shut.

  • Went from 'just fine' to 'this is ruining me' in the space of an hour yesterday. Bleeeugghh

  • Unexpectedly suffering today. May be the flowers I bought on Saturday, but my nose was twitching when I woke up.

  • It begins. On a wet, cold March day.

  • Oh shit, you're right.

I hadn't consciously noted it, but I've been rubbing my eyes all day.

  • Yay, look it's spring. There is blossom and flowers.

    Yay.

    Oh.

  • anyone started taking drugs yet this year?

  • Not regularly. Yesterday I felt like I needed a Loratidine. I will probably take one today.

  • Oh, I felt rubbish on the bike yesterday... could be hayfever.

  • I think I'm getting the first signs of it but not sure, eyes felt a little itchy a week or so ago but it passed. Just don't want to kill my immune system with too much loratadine

  • I've been boshing them for a couple of weeks, been quite bad up here.

  • Just don't want to kill my immune system with too much loratadine

Pretty sure that's not how it works, so have at them.

  • It begins… 😭

  • Felt like it’s slowly been ramping up over the last couple of weeks with sore eyes and scratchy throat here and there but it’s proper hit me today. Want to pull my eyes out and plug my nose.

  • People getting symptoms should maybe do a covid test to make sure.
i had a scratchy throat on saturday and thought it was a bit early for the trees round here that start mine off. a test on sunday was covid positive, had really gritty eyes on the monday (worse than any mild hayfever i get)
the symptoms can be very similar.

  • Yeah I've been doing a test if I've been planning to do anything in public that day which have all been coming back negative so far.

  • Yeah same. Since the beginning of this week its been getting worse.

  • Yup, covid negative but so sniffly and and panting when out for a ride. Really not enjoying this at the moment ☹️ Definitely been building up for a couple of weeks but last couple of days I've definitely felt it

  • The other day was mad windy up here and I woke up and sneezed for about half an hour then had an intensely sensitive nostril all day.

  • i just took a cetirazine as despite being positive i only have a blocked nose (no snot) now as symptoms (day 5) and the trees outside are starting to flower so not sure now if its a covid symptom or the start of hayfever.
a week or so early for me this year.
