Finish for Benzema’s third is insanely good, proper chef’s kiss.

To see PSG botteling it once again was nice if not entirely unsurprising. Ancelotti has Madrid purring this season, some people were blaming him for choosing them over another season at Everton.

Abramovich sanctioned (eventually) by UK govt.
All UK assets frozen. Chelsea can still operate under a special licence but sale now on hold. Club will not be allowed to sell any more tickets - only season ticket holders can go to games for the foreseeable future.

Maguire and Shaw will be getting new long-term contracts. Possibly even Wan-Bissaka.
-
• #160607
Will they be singing his name at future games? (Those who have season tickets that is...)

Gutted for them.

At first the chelsea news delighted me, but after a little thought it's a bit grim. It'll depend on how long things are frozen for
-
• #160613
Nah I couldn't give a fuck about Chelsea. They knew the baggage that all the money and success was coming with.
-
• #160614
If no tickets are sold does that mean no away fans?
-
• #160615
They could in theory be allowed to buy tickets from their own club with no transfer of revenue from that club to the pariah of the English game.
-
• #160616
Could be. Will be bonus money for the away team in that case.

• #160617
I imagine that they have operating costs, wonder how long their cash flow will keep them open. Surely Roman wouldn't put anything more in, or maybe couldn't even if he wanted to
-
• #160618
yeah that's what I've read.
20k travel allowance will be interesting on Wednesday and that's an easy one to start with
-
• #160619
That was one of my first thoughts, hotel rethink! I wonder if the sponsors will now distance themselves from the club.

No income (or very little), no cash injections from Abramovich, with lots of wages that won't be paid but they're not able (presumably) to sell players in the summer.
And isn't there a rule that players can't play if they're not paid? I wonder where this will end

Even if they don't (which they will), they won't be allowed to actually give them any money will they?

sanction the rangers II next pls HM gov (nothing to do with the war in ukraine, just don't like them)
-

Pre existing financial arrangements will be honoured, but no new deals or automatic renewals where there is a break clause will be able to be negotiated.
It does mean that all out of contract Chelsea players will not be able to agree new deals, there are a few of them too!

On the one hand, it sucks that supporters are at the mercy of whoever decides to buy their club. They have no control over it. The allegiances they have to their club may run back decades, and now what? We expect them to support someone else just because some horrific rich arsehole bought their club?
On the other hand, LOL.

I'd just like them to put their hands up and admit the whole situation stinks. Rather than chanting their corrupt owner's name at inappropriate times.
Oh and - in the case of Chelsea - not be racist cunts.
Was just about to say the same thing. It's a match made in heaven.
