Oh surprising! Should have guessed when the press release about Jasmin Paris went out yesterday!

Other than swimming, can anyone recommend good cross training for a hip flexor injury? I need to rest it for two weeks apparently, then have a half marathon on the 26th and would like to keep a bit of fitness going.

Did you sort some shoes out? If not, I might be able to help, depending on what size you are.

I did but really appreciate the thought, very generous. And thank you @Airhead for the short-run encouragement, it's taken me a few days to process. I realise I've been thinking that if I'm unable to run 5k I'm not a 'proper' runner but you're right, 3k a day is 3k more a day that I was doing this time last year and I think it's a practice I could keep up too. Really appreciate that 'lightbulb' moment. Even if I don't make the 5k I'd be happy with that practice.

I'm not a 'proper' runner
You run, therefore you are.

I've been doing it every morning but it's taken some work to stay injury free. Stretching properly or using a percussion massager is absolutely necessary for me.
As far as running 5k. I managed a 10k charity run having run daily 3k's only, just slowed my runs for a couple of weeks and broke it down into 3k sections.
Short distance means you can focus on your gait and posture too.
1500m is a classic race distance :)

BM is still the most confusing thing in the world, completely unaccesable as a spectator, completely unfinishable as a participant!
In other news I’m really struggling for motivation, Brighton was supposed to be a spring challenge aiming for a relatively slow time, but after Wokingham that target time is a walk in the park, and I’m not interesting upping that, so now feeling like I can cruise the next few weeks…
10 miles at marathon pace tomorrow will hopefully give me the kick up the arse I need!

Twitter killed both tweetdeck & carbon bitd. What clients are good now?

No idea if it's any good as I've not used anything else but I use Echofon (on iPhone).

Indeed, last lady standing and in the final five! Fingers crossed she can make the fun run! Would be incredible if she makes the cut off to go beyond that and goes for lap 4...

Heartbreaking.
John Kelly lost his clip belt with his pages in, spent 3hrs on hillside looking for them in the undergrowth, gave up, started walking back to quit and immediately found it on the nice open trail at the top of the hill. Still he finished the lap but cba'd to carry on at that point as his 5 laps would be impossible then.
