You made me look.
Watch is £4.8k.There is one of the F1 Wiliams drivers looking awkward on the Bremont site.
Which is clearly the look we are all going for. -

No way is a pro team sleeve fitting over a 43mm bremont watch
Also the bremont rubber strap is not very nice

I am sure it has been dealt with at some point in the previous 1472 pages, but whats with the band on the left arm?
I don't own any Rapha stuff primarily because of the association that the band has in my mind with the Nazis. It seems like such a fundamental design oversight. Or maybe I am just living in the past.
Thoughts?

It's just branding. It's a protected trademark in most of Rapha's major markets so other cycling brands can't replicate it, therefore out on the road you can spot Rapha a mile off, long before you can read a logo.
You're just living in the past.

Nazis would have worn Assos. Not even debatable.
-
• #36791
Interesting that the association is so strong for you. Isn't it usually white on Rapha jerseys rather than red?

I think pas normal is the most diversity-averse, body image-obsessed of all, at least that how it appears on my feed

They come across as the ultimate cycling gatekeepers.

Yeah, I guess it is prominent in my mind as I studied 20th century Pan-European history/politics and have continued an interest into my post-university life. I think it is one of those things that once you have seen you cannot unsee!
I guess I am living in the past, although it could be argued that, with the way that the world is going, the symbolism is more relevant now than at any time since the 40s.
Edit: Except maybe the skinhead movement. fucking skinheads.

Just never been able to take the brand seriously because it’s either PeNiS or Piss n Shit to me.
-
• #36796
It's never even crossed my mind. And I worked there for several years and saw that armband in my sleep.

I always knew Mottram was a closet facist.

• #36798
This is a joke btw, before any lawyers get involved.

Arm bands are pretty prevalent outside of Nazis.
Football captains, Marshall's, paintball, running etc etc.

My mum forbade me wear the rapha stuff with black or white armbands because to her both signified mourning and she thought that 'inauspicious'. (In China white is the colour of mourning). So agreed, more akin to when footballers pay their respects with a little armband action.
Pervy men are very easy to upset. 🤣
