  • Fucking estate agents

    I'll pass thanks.

  • knock em through internally to make a big one?

  • Separate leases suggest to me that that might have unwelcome complications?

  • Pembury Tavern?

  • Ha, yes. Under previous management. I assume board games are less of a thing there now.

  • They do have a sideboard with some in. It’s really a much better pub now, always had a bit of a student union vibe before.

  • Only if the freeholders find out....

Don't take legal advice from a structural engineer.

  • thats been the mantra for all of them, thankfully the mini chain (FTB/us/already moved) are all decent human beings and are in agreement on them pulling their fingers out.

    TL/DR @Ben6899 summed it up
    “Bunch of cunts.”

  • You'd better hurry up and start making those doors so you can prove @Airhead wrong then.

    #trollface

  • Sorry, dull question. Any recommendations for Homebuyers surveyors around Woodford/Chingford? Ta muchly.

  • Keep up, he's underpinning them both first

  • Yeah it's nice that Five Points are at the five points :)

  • Zaid at ZFN, was recommended to me by @frankohara
we just had his basic report as there was nothing structural that we didn’t already know about. very thorough report all done on whatsapp with images and voice reports.

  • @Jameo as @Mr_Smyth said, Zaid is seriously hardworking and a pleasure to deal with (unlike the state agents!). We have now recommended him several times and everyone seemed happy!
Fell free to send him a list of areas you might want him to pay extra attention to or that you are worried about.

P.S: I don't get referral fees, he just saved us from buying a hyped turd in E17 and I can't thank him enough!

  • Think I got lucky with my estate agent as they were selling both my place and the place I was buying (that was also on with another agent) so they had double incentive to get it through.

  • I was genuinely sorry to hear about the theft from the other garage as I hate thieves. Having said that I had my concerns about securing carriage doors and I can't see a scenario where they provide the protection you would want for a fully equipped workshop.

Best of luck to Dammit in his garages though, whatever doors he wants. I think the brief has already changed though, understandably.

  • Don't get me started on Stow Brothers!! Luckily once we steered clear of them we found a small agent that was actually pretty good!

  • @Jameo

We also just used ZFT after praise on this thread and also nothing but good things to say!

  • Nice, thanks all.

  • figured out today my sister in law lives next door to catford - in "lee" (which sounds made up to me). disowned

  • Keep applying pressure to neighbour until it's fixed. Make it clear what has to happen, be as specific as possible, send a marked up diagram etc. Don't let neighbour fob you off ("Oh, the builder reckons its fixed and I don't want to be difficult..."), he is accountable for sorting it out.

The neighbour is now being an arse. I wish I’d chased the fucking builders off at the outset.

  • Isn't this someone on here's next-door neighbour? I remember a porch chat?

  • that's horrible.. £900k! world's gone mad etc

  • Ha! There is some amazing estate agent patter in the video.

  • Good memory but no.
