Sizing question on the newer croix de fer. I'm 5"8.5 and recommended a medium frame. My current bike is a Giant Contend SL Disc in medium but it always feels too stretched out.
Look at the geo charts, the newer medium is a little longer at 8mm reach, but the stack is much higher at 30mm compared to the Giant. Not to mention a much high standover on the cdf could lead to a comedy of errors.
Anyway, how is the size chart on genesis website for accuracy? It puts me in a the medium, buy I wonder if I should go with a small.
Ideally I'd test it out but don't know anywhere that stocks Genesis in central London
Assuming not wildly different geo from previous years, I would say you’re right to consider going with a small. I’m about the same height and a small is spot on for me, with a sensible amount of seatpost and a 90mm (or 100mm - I forget!) stem.
