So you would prefer to wear a fake one so that people think youre wearing a Rolex? Secretly you want the prestige. If they dont outright ask you about it, which you secretly want, then they will then think youre a twat for owning one?!

The prestige comes with the marketing... Thats why theyre impossible to buy now.

So you paid good money for a watch that breaks after 2 years?! I'd rather buy a Steinhart Ocean One that lasts a lifetime than throw good money at a watch that dies after 2 years. Im not wearing it as a fashion statement (mostly, else why wear a homage), I wear it cause its quality and will last.

So apparently this Omega one fits. Would definitely prefer this. Seems Omega get funny about part swaps though.

I'd love to know how much of the money in these fakes works its way up the party system to the personal coffers of Xi Jinping. Think I'd rather pay to enrich a tennis player.

Height reduction would be a bonus but I'm not really after an exhibition back (all the better to see the delrin brake…). Just something a bit simpler and maybe a bit more period appropriate (ie less busy). Really the main aim would be reduction of wrist cheese buildup. Dunno.

There's one of those pre-moon style casebacks listed online for £500, lol. Maybe I'll just stick with cleaning mine regularly.

It's a First Omega in Space, mine is from late 2020 (courtesy of @ejay2.0), they're discontinued now I believe. It's a tribute/remake (?) to the watch Walter Schirra wore to space in 1962. There are a few differences, it's not a perfect remake, the most obvious thing being that it has a sapphire crystal. But I really like the case design without the asymmetrical crown guards that the later professional models (ie moonwatches) have.

Edit: I like the moonwatch as well, but I liked this more than the modern moonwatches.
