Dad’s videography skills leave a lot to be desired.

Every bike I've ever had, has had a seized swingarm bolt. I've banged on this thread before about it. When I go to buy a bike I take tools, and ask if I can loosen and spin the bolt, most look confused as to why and let me try, sometimes they are stuck anyways, and sometimes they know they are stuck and claim ignorance.
My current bike had the worst one, super long bolt through all the usual structures, but quite skinny, so really hard to drill it on centre. had to cut the swing arm into at least ten pieces though -

Is this the equipment your Dad was using by any chance?

My standard zoomer (Polini varitor) is my only upgrade. I’ve got a carbon Yoshimura pipe for it and had the o2 blanking plug for but the bike ran like shit when I fitted it. I was going to get a plug fitted to the yoshi pipe so I could use the o2 sensor on it but a local shop says they can map it out apparently.
Last week I couldn’t get it to start with the yoshi pipe fitted when it was booked into the shop to get mapped out (They then said they could get it to start) but I took it away and as soon as I put the stock pipe back on it runs again.
Anyone got an idea why it’s doing that with other pipe fitted

Sketchy air leak?

If the O2 sensor is disconnected when trying the other exhaust wouldn't that potentially cause problems with fuel mixture, especially cold when the 'choke' would be applied.

According to the garage above the o2 sensor does nothing, so honda were just fitting them for fun.
I haven't said but it did run with it disconnected and then just cut out and wouldnt restart again. I dont know why yoshi didnt have a fitting on the pipe out the factory tbh. Its a royal pain in the arse

Weird. Usually the O2 sensor contributes a bit although I would have thought the bike would run without it, just not as well.

Are 13mm & 15mm impact sockets something bike mechanics would use?
The Hilti rep gave me an ex-demo set but I only want the nifty caddy they come with, got long and short.

Yes - 13 all the time. 15 for anyone with an Italian bike.

Anyone remember Wacky Races? This clip reminds me of it so much. Makes me giggle. I hope none of the people wearing a vest and no helmet fell off. https://www.local10.com/news/local/2022/02/20/troopers-on-alert-after-hundreds-of-motorcycle-riders-swarm-south-florida-roadways/

Think you can disaasemble most ducatis with a 10, 13, 15 and a 17.
While some bikes have 18mm and 14 and the odd 22 thrown in. While french cars feel like you use ever fucking socket in the set.

Managed to drive the motorbike to the client today. Only 5 or so miles there and bad.
Kinda opened up the Blackbird a tiny little bit, a smidgen. Oof.
It’s growing on me.

Reminds me of this. Brilliant use of the word flannel also.

Excellent. Flannel, ha!
Having spent all Sunday on the Sherco, it felt great to accelerate on a bike that weighs, hmm, eight times as much!
Bloody hell. No wonder the front only lifted a little bit…………!

In other news. Which bit do I break first??
Assuming that to replace the entire crank, I need to strip every last piece of this Rotax lump. Probably for the best. The exterior is filthy.

The bit someone else broke and bodged back together.

You'll need to take all that off. After that, get a case separator to split the cases - don't try and pry them apart. Be careful not to lose any thrust washers when you take out the gear clusters. You'll want a crank puller to help re-assemble. There's nothing complicated - just take your time. Use of an oven / freezer is pretty important, so start buttering up your mum / missus now as it stinks the place out a bit.

Fucking mental! What the fuck is this????
Not too bad!
The first lap I messed up and missed a few flags, so a few 5’s unnecessarily. After that it got a bit better.
One section was impossible. Too steep and muddy. I made it on the first lap but the next three laps had to get pulled up and even those guys struggled to help me. Most people failed that section, the more difficult routes actually had better grip.
Otherwise, I was surprised just how tough a few of the sections were, on ‘beginner route’. Very steep bank to the river, that was interesting. Only one crossing per section, but two sections made use of it. The more technical routes went in and out of the river a number of times.
In two minds if I stick to absolute beginner or give the novice route a go.
