Front wheel washed out hit the ground hard. Just needs a couple weeks rest hopefully..

What’s the overall width from the outside face of the crank arm to the outer edge of the pedal?
I’m trying to make a short list of the widest pedals

Dang. That's how I did mine as well. A few times. I wish I hadn't waited so long to get treatment, though, but was thoroughly over rehab and all that after the big accident the year before ... Anyways, I since learnt that longer term inflammation weakens the tissue more. So getting a course of anti inflammatory meds or an injection earlier might have prevented some of the damage I did by landing on it when it was already throbbing every night. For me it's torn three rotator cuffs and a partially ripped bicep tendon plus a labrum tear ...
Of course YMMV

Oh that sounds like a nightmare.
Last year I hurt the same shoulder. I hit a tree going full speed, it stopped me dead. Was painful at the time but had no option other than to keep riding for about another hour or so. As soon as I got into the car and cooled down that pain was unbearable.
Thankfully I don’t think I tore anything last year as I did get it back to full strength with no lingering issues. This time around its no where near as painful as it was last year, it’s feeling better everyday, so I’m hopeful there’s no permanent damage.
The steroid injection is interesting, were you given just one or did you go back for more?
I have Morton’s neuroma in my foot and I’ve been told a cortisone injection will probably be the next avenue I go down before looking at anything more drastic.
You feel it gave you immediate and long lasting relief?

Ooft! Looks like a golf ball in there. Had it checked out?
I feel like I’ve had more big crashes in the past two years than I’ve had in 20 years of riding.
I definitely don’t bounce off the ground the same way I used to. -

Thats my collarbone permanently sprung at the ac joint my right wrist is the same. Pulled it off my shoulder blade hitting a tree so it's only attached at the front and to my trapezius muscles but no ligaments left attaching it to my scapula. I've had consultations for pinning or weaver dunn procedures but both had drawbacks so just loads of physio and theraband work and I've got full range of motion just wierd mechanics. No pain but i can't do pull ups, row or incline press at the gym. I've just been told to try not to land on it again now. Although it won't hurt as much now there's hardly any ligaments left to tear but it won't take much of a knock to pull it right up again. Apart from my neck and spine which would be the worst I've broken every part of my upper body crashing off road over the years. My brain and cardio feels young still but my body feels really old. No arthritis yet though although I've been told to expect it in that shoulder so that's something to look forward too. I had braces fitted in November to fix my smashed teeth as well which is costing me more than my most expensive bike but needed doing.

Jesus Christ!
I use heavy tools and machinery for work, an injury that affects my mobility is my worst nightmare. Every time I crash on the mtb it gives me some serious doubts. No pain but i can do pull ups, row or incline press at the gym
Was that a typo? Can or can’t?
My brother in law crashed in a road race last year, lost his front teeth and a broken jaw. No concussion thankfully but the dental bill could pay for a hyper-bike 😟

Sorry typo i meant those are the things i can't do anymore but most importantly it doesn't affect my work as a hairdresser and i can even swim again. Dental bill is around 6k so that's a really nice bike or even a new car for me. Needed to be done i lost 2 teeth and they managed to save 2 so could have lost 4 which is almost half my bottom row. I know we joke on here about dentists riding S-works but my dentist drives a new Bentley. Luckily the rest of my facial reconstruction was NHS but this is what 6k gets you with an orthodontist. I'd rather have a new bike although i do still have one turning up i May 😁

Brief ride with the Pembree pedals today - I admit I scarpered ahead of the rain.
First impressions, the platform feels larger than the DMR's that they replaced, although I think they're actually very similar in size. Noticeably more grip - but then my DMR's had had a lot of use and the pins were rounding, so maybe that's not fair.
I've not had the worst customer service of any mountain bike brand* from Pembree, whereas I have from DMR, so that's a strong positive.
* And I've bought a YT!

One x-ray guided injection. About 120ml of steroids, pain killers and saline directly into the capsule.
They waited until the pain killers numbed everything and then moved the arm through the range by grabbing it and wrenching it around. Before that I could barely lift it past nipple height and it was the first time I had my hand over my head for months.
Mobility has stayed. Strength has come back with lots of physio. I can do pull ups and push ups again, although narrow ones are uncomfortable. Shoulder won't be totally pain free as the rotator cuffs are torn but it's not bothering me anymore.

Dare we ask what the pedal company did to you

• #23397
Those are long pins, love a grippy pedal. How are they?
-
• #23398
I spoke to a chap called Robin at DMR, he literally couldn’t have given less of a shit about the problem I was having with the grips, then suggested I’d probably bought fakes and was trying to make it his problem.

I like them a lot. Seem to spend less time getting my foot into a good position for control and power - just stick a foot on and go, and (so far!) been very secure with Adidas Terrex/Stealth soles.

Welcome to the club. I tore the ACJ on My right shoulder about 8 years ago, the worst thing was I'd taken the week off sick and my partner was helping with all the stuff I was struggling with, then I went back to work, and realised when getting changed that I couldn't get my T shirt off.
The Secus is meant to increase mid-stroke support, so despite the missing 10mm when the bike is unweighted/leaning against a wall it might be riding at the same point as it did previously with the C1 cap/no Secus when you're riding it. If that makes sense.
