Thanks for asking. A cold miserable night. This morning I went to a friends to get a generator for my neighbour. As I got home with the generator the power company called to say problem would be resolved in 2-3 hours.
Went over the road Set the generator up, got home and it was time to walk the dogs and investigate storm damage. As I looked at the house suddenly all the lights came on. As I got back from the walk my wife pulled up on her return from Scotland and because the coffee machine is remote controlled it was ready for action.
So in the space of an hour everything was resolved, neighbours sorted and I think both our households are considering some kind of back up power source.
