• Elegant compared to the 1250GS, i.e. a bomb in a Lego factory. It's not just that bike, the whole industry seems to have a bitty design language at the moment. It makes my K look like something from the future. I'm sure it gets more compliments now than it did 28 years ago.

  • K1 was peak future bike but I absolutely agree on the sentiment re: current design language...

I have also always rather liked the F800S too...

  • The F800s stands out to me too. Not sure about belt drive or the overall personality though.

The RNineT with an S or Bikini fairing is still a bit too much money for me to take a punt on.

  • The K1 looks like a real world, grown up version of Kaneda's bike in Akira.
    (If it was red)

  • A K1 would be one of my lottery projects. Give it a K12 or 13 engine, maybe a turbo, change every possible part for custom made carbon fibre, and try for 200mph. Possibly extend the rear bodywork to make it a streamliner. Probably cost as much as a Honda 213, which would be next to it in the garage.

Failing that, if I keep my K11, which I won't, I'll put a K1 front mudguard on it, like this guy.

  • The K1 is a icon, Still looks futuristic to me like a pop up Katana.

  • I guess it's that thing of the future is now, we've seen it, and we don't like it.

That's why we jizz over nostalgia.

ICE motorcycles are largely about tapping into that. I mean BMW has a whole range called heratige.

CE04 has pretty modern vibes tho

(albeit with a bit of a retro call-back)
