Anyway, forget bells for a minute (even though I just paid for one that isn't in my list 😉)
I'm struggling to find a 50cm+ seatpost that's silver and aluminium. So I've ordered a cheap ugly steel one for now. I'll definitely be replacing it in future but I'd like to get the bike done!

This actually does look useful. What is it?

I think they meant the bell.
I have no idea what it is.

Yep! Meant the bell. Would like one for the cargo bike I use at work, it's hard to get a standard one in a useful position.

Ayy, more bells next month.

Ooh crikey, that's rather pretty.

Nothing meaningful to add. It's been a tough month financially. If i can shift anything in classfields I might get the spokes (finally) and build the wheels (...finally)
Can't remember the last time a build wasn't a super slow burner. -

Well, here's a shot of the long-ass seatpost anyway. Still want to find an aluminium replacement at some point.

Basic bitch spokes ordered finally
Have also compromised on brakes and chainring to get things moving again.
So really need a Shimano DynaSys shifter to start building once the wheels are done.

This build is torturously slow!!

A lot of mine are. It's why I don't do CP threads much. I got moaned at for my Orange taking a few months. But things are rolling along now.
Apologies to everyone that sees an update and it hasn't got much going on.
I can promise the next couple of weeks will have pictures with actual progress -

I now have all components minus brakes and a shifter, both of which I have lined up to buy, just waiting for the seller to respond.

I have a lot of time for mini velos. Looks great!

Cheers, fingers crossed the guards fit over the tyres 😅😬

If anyone has any leads on a 27.2mm aluminium 50cm seatpost please let me know

Not finished yet but it's starting to look like a bike. Mudguards are on. Some of the stuff pictured is just test fitted while I wait for bolts, hoses and other things to turn up.
Mistakes were made. I didn't need a massive cassette and it looks better without it. The rear wheel axle could (should) be longer, I've had one on order for ages but it's just not coming back in stock so might look elsewhere. The bars will have to come down so I'll do away with the one massive spacer. Might just pop it about 6cm (out of a possible 12) down. Need to somehow work out where is 'right'before I cut the hoses 😅😬

Of course this has dragged on for so long that I've misplaced the crank bolt. I'm waiting on chainring bolts before that's needed anyway.
In hindsight, with the smaller cassette I'd like something like a Saint derailleur as this XT now looks way too big.
Found a spare King Cage to fit as well

A few more shots. Man this phone camera isn't great but I'll aim to get some nicer photos when it's done.

With a lot of luck I'll make the minivelo porn thread before the end of the month.
Not sure I'll have the rack on in time but whatever -
• #199
Looks great fun, which rack are you using? One of the ones that goes on the V brake mounts?
-

Rear pannier rack designed for 20" wheels with an attachment on the seatstay bridge.
Almost as tukt as the trigger bell I posted upthread
