  • Although it sounds horrible, you need to lose 82400 calories.
Divide that amongst running, and diet and divide that as sensibly as you can.

  • As I set my goal for end of Jan my update is a little early but weighed in at 80kg today so bang on. 4 kg lost this month. Aim is to lose a further 2kg in feb

Got CNY tomorrow so will undoubtedly put some weight on,!

  • Congrats. I have CNY food envy.

  • When you say like that!! Ooof

Ok, need to take this to next level.
Things gonna get real in Feb

  • I have the in-laws down - there is only 7 of us for dinner but there looks enough good be able to feed two football teams.
Will also be the first time I’ve drunk this year (although might not actually booze)

  • If you’ve lost some weight already, then your diet is probably not a huge problem, and things like cutting bread/alcohol might be the only thing you really need to do.

Skipping a meal can be tough if you’re doing 6-7h of running a week!
Might want to replace it with a protein shake, to keep the protein up, but calories low.

For example, my breakfast is usually a protein shake made up with unsweetened almond milk, or 3 eggs scrambled with organic butter, 2x bacon, fried egg, fried tomato.

  • what are the tastiest protein shakes ? I don't want to have to do extensive market research of boggin tasting protein shakes to work this out myself

  • I've had good experience with Bulk, but I use the vegan blend (I find the vanilla to be the best one of the 4 or 5 flavours I've tried). I have also in the past bought unflavoured protein powder and calorie free flavour drops so that I can vary the flavour regularly.

  • Second Bulk, I go for the vanilla Pure Whey Isolate , mixes well in smoothies, pancakes and absolutely fine to have on its own with 300ml of water, the colder the better it tastes. I always chuck an ice cube into the shaker and I'd go as far as saying that it tastes nice. Never buy full price, they do 40-50% off regularly, so just get on their mailing list.

  • Unsweetened almond milk and half frozen banana with some chocolate/vanilla whey is my go to. I fluctuate between bulk powders or MyProtein depending on whats cheapest at time of ordering…

  • Have realised I’ve kind of transitioned to 5:2 fasting, eating a fair bit more at the weekend, admittedly with more exercise, but still I guess it’s part of transitioning back to a more normal diet.

    This weeks update
    Weight 88.5> 81kg (83.1 last week)
    Fat 27.8 > 24.4 (24.9 last week)
    Waist 93 > 86 (87 last week)

New suit bought in my old size ready for an event at the end of feb, bit of a risk as it’s a bit snug at the moment, but confident 3 weeks will get me some breathing room!

  • I've been looking for a few recipe ideas, and fuck me, there is so much utter wankery when it comes to dieting.

  • Recipe ideas are a great one, obviously everyone is doing their own thing but my favourite concoction has been…

grated courgettes, squeezed of water in a tea towel or muslin, mixed with grated Parmesan (about 20g for one large courgette), formed into nests, baked in the oven till a bit crispy with a poached egg on top…

    (I’m no food photographer)

  • Yeah my counting the calories over the weekend went out the window. We had an early CNY dinner on Sunday at the in laws The spread was good. Happy CNY.

  • I've been enjoying buckwheat pancakes with roasted veggies recently. Been my go to dinner. I'll get the Recipie up.
they are good to make a stack and keep them in the fridge and just warm through when u need.

Edit I used this Recipie and then just chuck in what you want.
I found the thinner ones better as the fatter ones can be a bit stodgy

  • Mental progress!
I think you are on the strictest and highest deficit on here.
    7.5kg in 1 month….

  • Oh man i'm struggling so much to set up my withings body+ it's such a fucking chore. I can't be the only one surely?! I want to join the weight loss gang.

  • Seeing some inspiring results here! Well done everyone!

    2nd Jan - 99.3kg
    2nd Feb - 95.7kg

Pretty pleased with that for now, but aiming for ~90kg
Just keeping an eye on what I eat, back on the running and cycling, and did dry Jan which helped!

  • After a week of yo-yoing saw steady progress on the scales today.

    88.8kg (down from 94kg on 2nd January).

    Trust the process!

  • Well done! Less than 3kg a month left for next 2 months.

  • I’ve gone under 76 (75.9kg) today for the first time in almost a year.

4 weeks this month, so hoping to be be sub 73kg by end of the month.
I have a week trip to France during half term where it will be hard to lose weight, but aiming to get stronger with burpees and kettlebells and bike hill sprints to help consume the croissant energy.

Started adding 100 burpees a day from yesterday, so extra callisthenic work and about 200 extra calories burned a day.

  • I’ve been enjoying instant noodles for lunch this week. Cheap and only 80 cals a pack. Feel pretty full with a protein shake after. I’ve only got some basic coop own brand. Are there any better, healthier versions I should look for? The little sachet of flavour scares me a bit.

  • Err, what instant noodles are 80cals a pack?
I think you might be mis reading the nutritional info?

  • yeah I'll take some of those pls - I really like these ones but they're 700 cals (!) a pop, before you even add veg or protein

  • I think you might be looking at the per 100g as prepared information.

    For example see here:

    https://shop.coop.co.uk/product/3306eca2-d81b-49ff-a4da-5c1e947c097e

80 calories with be about a 20g of dried noodles.
