I had a folder, must find some kids to take the piss out of me

Give it a few years and you'll level up to this
I did a work trip in India with my own folder, was a breeze and saved us plenty of times. Our pm who was supposed to run the whole trip didn't even manage to sort his own visa out. Folder users unite! ✊

In a #dadlife update despite not being a dad I got up for a piss around 5am, got back into bed and, reaching for the pillow, felt something in my back pop out of place.
It’s hurting as I type this. Hopefully it will go away - without some other part of my body breaking down in sympathy first.

I printed off a boarding pass in A3 by mistake a few years ago. I wasn't going to waste paper by printing another so that got a few chuckles at check-in

So many dad points.

Did it have a QR code? If it did - How far from the scanner did you need to stand and did you lose your place in the queue whilst positioning yourself to scan?

Was just about to book two weeks in Switzerland as usual but a friend suggested that we try a ten day ski tour in Lapland instead. Must say, the idea has really tempted me.

On a road trip with multiple accommodations, car hire, flight tickets etc there is no option for not only a pouch but a punched folder in order of need sequence.

Just a bar code which was readable without significant contortions

We have been to Levi in Finland several times, no massive pistes but very laid back, we love it there.

I've heard lots of good things. As you say, piste skiing is very limited but we don't do much of that anyway.
Other advantages are thick oxygen rich air and rolling bumps for hills instead of gurelling thousand meter climbs.
I think I'm getting old and lazy.

What's it like to cook/eat in Levi in terms of cost?

@Stonehedge - check out Riksgränsen as well

Supermarket prices are probably similar to Waitrose. We always go self catering and it is not mega expensive.

Even further north than me

Going down the main red at Chatel, lower part (if anyone knows this), moderately fast. Start a turn, which is fine, but the ski skips sideways as well as going forwards. I can get it to stop by angling my foot more so the edge bites harder. Should I be rolling onto the edge more aggressively at the start of the turn?

Are your edges properly sharpened?
Are you skiing all mountain skis rather than dedicated carving skis? Less hour glass shape than you’re used to could cause this I’d think

(Although confusingly the Head website says 170 or 177 are the lengths available).

Looks like an easy ski so shouldn’t give you trouble. All skis are different though.
Last time I went I got some pretty stiff black crows. Acted like you say when you took it easy but was amazing when you put some effort in.
Try skiing a bit more aggressively and see if it helps, if not talk to the shop and see if they need sharpening or if you can get something that will suit you better.
Most people rent / buy skis that are over their level, including me. Those black crows were amazing for a few hours but then my legs were toast and I should’ve prob had something a bit more forgiving to start with

How tall are you? If you’re a beginner I’d go for skis 10ish cm shorter than yourself
I'd second printing everything out. For a family of 5 of us it was so much easier to have a folder (#dadtravel) with everyone's paperwork together than going through all the various phone confirmations and forms. Got the piss taken relentlessly by the teens (and it seems there is a flourishing lol at dads tiktok community), but worth it for time/hassle saved.
