I guess the big dog watch companies should wake up to smart watches
I borrowed a Tag smart watch for a few months a few years back. They're really quite good as smart watches but not a patch on an Apple Watch or even a Garmin Epix. Probably about the same in terms of usability as a Samsung Galaxy smart watch. The problem is, why on earth would anybody spend £2k on a smart watch when you can get the same/better for a fraction of the price?
I suppose what I'm trying to say is that the Tag smart watch would be a good proposition at £500 to £800 tops, not the £2k they are asking for it. I'd go for one of the titanium Epix every time.

do you even watch, bro?
Your argument for not dropping £2k on a spendier smart watch is basically saying "why buy an auto when a quartz does it better, for cheaper?".
A £20 Casio keeps better time and has more functions than a £20k Rolex
edit: that was meant to be more 'wink-wink' in on the joke, but re-reading it it may come over a little antagonistic.

The problem with four-figure smartwatches is they depreciate like mad and are fully obsolete within five years. That's why they make no sense (as much as Apple would like us to buy a new £1000 phone every 24 months).
Buy a Rolex and in five years it's worth at least what you paid.

You've obviously been lurking for a while because you know about the OCD-baiting bezel misalignment meme.

It's not even about holding value.
A >£2k smartwatch will probably not work in 5yrs and will almost definitely not in 10yrs.
All you can hope is the hardware is decent quality and that there will be some version of Linux you can put on it to keep it running.

Yeah, I'm a fan. I read that the Vantablack coating is incredibly delicate and easily ruined - basically you can't touch it. So no idea how you can service the watch. Presume it's a new dial every time.

I forget which super-black pigment was which now - does anish kapoor get royalties for this or not? :-)
That took some scrolling to get there! Very cool, didn’t know that.
@ChainBreaker I can’t wait, more pictures coming soon.
