Ever evolving GT Ruckus. Now with bouncy forks and biggest possible tyres. I am going to actually ride this configuration.
Eccentric bottom bracket before you ask...

Sounds like how I met my missus, except it was London a couple of years later.
Now I want to find the 2004 BanGer. Who was playing? Was the set recorded? What tempo? Explain how the track went in more detail... Was it all kicks or was there some sick bassline? Much in the way of synth melody on top or no?

My Solaris Max when it was running singlespeed. Managed to get it working with a magic ratio but next time I’ll have to go with a tensioner I think.

What frame model is this? Did it come with the eccentric bottom bracket or was that your doing?

GT Ruckus 2006 i think. It is SS specific. Pretty rare it seems.
Edit: looked like this when I got it

GT Ruckus 2006
Ta!
The original state looked cool too. Is that 26" and now you are running 27.5? -

It was Andrew Pirie playing (one half of the Melting Pot resident djs). Was maybe around 120bpm. There was like a 2 second break(I always mind this guy whistled during the silence like he knew and loved the tune) then it dropped and thats when I became aware of it... This synthy sound was a bit like what I think folk in the biz would call The Sizzle combined with a sort of lazer beamy wobbly bass noise. Then there was this sound that I can only describe as being similar to the loud scary noise that the monsters made
in the 2005 War or the worlds! Fuck!
I still remember it so vividly. Its annoying because I know that Andrew Pirie plays vinyl only sets at Melting Pot. I know for a fact that he has the record sitting there in the collection somewhere. So near yet so far.

Aye, he works for a Glasgow hifi shop. I spoke to him in the shop a couple of years later and told him about it. He had absolutely no idea and I could tell he thought I was a crack pot.

Might start listening to these...
https://soundcloud.com/andrew-pirie-75644733/techno036Anything else you can remember about the track? No vocal sample? You said the guy was whistling the melody?
Should take this to the techno thread..

I went to melting pot frequently in my early twenties for a good few years running, always had the hope it would get played again.
I quite like getting old and fat but I really miss my raving days. -

Nah the guy just put his fingers in his mouth and done that really loud whistle that I can’t do.
It was more a celebratory this-tune-is-fucking-screamer-and-I-love-life whistle. This whole incident probably only lasted 3 minutes before it mixed into another tune. I wanted to ask the dj what it was called but there were barriers clearly there to stop people like me waffling shite to him. I also realised there was a lady who clearly fancied me(this hardly ever happened) and I’d let her get away. Found her though and haven’t let go since.

Yeah that’s him. Great shout on the SoundCloud mixes. I don’t think I’ve trawled his SoundCloud.
The first song on that linked techno 036 mix actually has a sound that isn’t far off the laser beamy sound it had! Fairly common sound though I suppose.
I’m gonna rinse some of these mixes over the next few nights. I don’t think sound cloud existed in the years when I was most actively searching for the tune.Edit-soz folks I really should stop filling the thread with off topic nonsense

A touch of the Matt Chester about that one.
