  • I don't think we are going to bid on that one over the road.

  • Ah shame. I know someone else who viewed it at the weekend and I think they are going to make an offer

  • Ah - good luck for them!

  • Sounds like the dream.
And being from Scotland I know you don’t like cooking.

  • You should throw a party!

  • Attendees:

    1. Bazschmaz
    2. Chrisbmx116
      ...
  • The stairs have a very Squid Game vibe

  • Painted breezeblocks are not a fucking finish.

  • What remedies are there if the managing agents don't provide service charge accounts? They claim they don't have them yet so can't provide them (this is going back to 2018 or something) but I'm not sure if there's any mechanism to force them.

They've provided notices of estimates which the charge is based on but no subsequent accounts which can be inspected.

  • If you are going to pose the same plants in each shot, at least make sure the pots are a bit blander, don't make them fairly distinctive.

  • Started to open up my bedroom's chimney breast this weekend and found 3 bird skeletons which wasn't pleasant. Don't think anyone messed about when bricking up this fireplace

I have a few switches (this one pictured in my lounge) and have no idea what it does. I've identified one elsewhere as being for the bathroom's electric radiator. There's at least 2 more I don't know what they do. Any ideas?

Also about to look for a classic style radiator that's significantly bigger as I am about half the BTU I need to be

  • Think my rad options are
2m one where the 1.4m one is on current wall, move a big one to the big back wall, or maybe fit 2 vertical radiators on the back wall. last option might look werid in a lounge

  • Is there's more photo?

The kitchen look way smaller than our (and our flat is much smaller overall).

  • They look like switches for electric radiators that were probably fixed to and wired through the walls at some point. I am sure one of my relatives had them back in the day.

  • If you feel confident you can do it safely, pop the cover off and see if there's a voltage across the switch in either position (if you only have a cheapo multimeter then be aware it's probably not really safety rated for mains but still not too likely to go pop). If you see mains voltage then you know for sure it's live and if you don't there's a good chance it isn't.

  • I can’t remember which one of you asked about oven? Our getting removed soon and will be up for grab for £100 for both, excellent condition too;

  • don't look to have a 2m one but that kind of thing yeah! Post a pic when yours are fitted, will look ace:)

  • Cheers @Sharkstar, @rhowe think old panel heater from looking into it a bit more. Will leave it but get the next electrician who is round to investigate/ remove the switch/ tuck the wire under the floorboards

  • We got some in various sizes, you don’t necessarily need to have them in the exact width of the original.

  • yeah jezza is next door, i almost moved into this one 8 years ago

  • Does anyone have a Barclays mortgage that can tell me what they're seeing when they log in to their account?

My fixed rate is ending soon and I am trying to see the available fixed rates Barclays are offering. When I log in, it gives me a notification that I can click to supposedly find out how to switch to a new rate but when I click it, it just takes me to my mortgage account and there's no options to do that anywhere.

I've also shown what my mortgage account page looks like and the options I have in managing my mortgage.

Just keen to see if something funny is going on with me specifically or if there's a bug at the moment.

I've switched rates online in the past so it's odd that it's not working now.

  • Could anyone please recommend someone to do a structutal survey (follow up to a level 3) in North East?

  • Had a good experience with Peter Dowling at Mason Archer in Buckhurst Hill. Where are you buying?
