The frame is a Genesis Day One, painted in a rather fetching red-pink colourway. I have been called a 'Gaylord' twice whilst riding it. Both times I took that as a compliment.
seller must be 'on here'

A mystery pair of 1024 gram wheels https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/334277753303 The rims look a bit like AX-Lightness. They look rather similar to this 790 gram pair https://www.benobikes.com/en/bike-parts/wheelsets/roadbike/ultra-25t#1f9fcb74e5506083b3fc3390918e7bd2

Super lightweight wheels, so you can afford to glue gatorskin boat anchors to them?! Must be a firm believer in the advantages of rotational weight.
-
• #65342
That says the owner is terrified of punctures, so never uses the wheels. A common conundrum for rich tub users.
-
• #65343
I've worked out what they are: Ax-Lightness Ultra 38T. Like these, but a little heavier cos they have 28 spokes on the rear https://www.benobikes.com/en/bike-parts/wheelsets/roadbike/ultra-38t#7084f0af00c42d9496d63d703c6f799e
Edit: the seller thinks they are Farsports rims. He bought them second hand. And I don't think they can be AX-Lightness because all the AX-Lightness wheels pictured on the interweb seem to have those pesky internal nipples.

Surely 1kg wheels were made for hillclimbs... Who needs air in your tyres when climbing?!
Descending on a flat tub is obviously a scary prospect.

The Gatorskins aren't for safety. Puncturing with a tub is supposed to be safe because, unlike a clincher, it can't roll off the rim. And a tub deflates slowly, whereas a clincher's inner tube can sometimes go bang.
The fear of the Gatorskin owner is that if the sealant doesn't work and he can't remove the flat tub or fit his spare tub, he's stranded. People without much experience of tubs develop a mortal fear of that. It takes a while to get proficient and confident with the glueing or the taping. It's a whole new skill which has to be learned, and there's trial and error and mess, and tips to be learned from pro mechanics, and competing claims from the people who swear by tape and the people who insist on glue. So some guys buy the super duper 1kg wheels....and then stick the fucking Gatorskins on them, when they really should be going the whole Instagram hog with silk Dugasts or something. Gatorskin tubs are meant for your cheapo training wheels, not your carbon bling superspecials.
This pair look quite deep, maybe 40mm, so they'd be billed as all-rounders. The Extralite hubs are so light that with shallow rims you can build a climbing pair for 800 grams. It all sounds absurd, but old school narrow tubular rims for caliper brakes can be made quite a bit lighter than fashionably wide hooked rims for disc brakes. This is how weight weenies can end up with a 5 kg bike.

Best of luck. In case his replies to my messages are useful, he said "I believe the rims are farsports with sapim spokes". He bought them used. "The gentlemen worked for a wheelbuilder and build them himself. I’m not 100% on the spokes brand sorry"
I looked at lots of pics of Farsports rims but couldn't find anything which matched the pattern of the carbon. Did you? There's a huge thread about Farsports at weightweenies. They seem popular, and massively cheaper than the German rims. But I expect you know all that. Maybe he could tell you which wheelbuilder the previous owner worked for? That would be handy to know. I still think they look more like AX-Lightness than anything else, but the nipples are wrong.
