This sprang up in my garden a couple of weeks ago. Any ideas what it could be and whether or not I should remove it

It's not a wood ear although it looks similar, it is Peziza Varia, it grows inside in damp buildings too, definitely not edible.

Don’t worry I won’t be eating it. I’m going to by some Chanterelles if I can find a source. They seem like a good intro to mushrooms.
